SSAWS
SSAWS, pronounced "zaws" and officially known as LaLaport Skidome SSAWS, was an indoor ski slope in Funabashi, Chiba, Japan. The name was an acronym of "Spring Summer Autumn Winter Snow". Constructed by Mitsui at a cost of US$400 million, the ski slope opened on July 15, 1993. With a structural height of 100 meters (translating to a skiable vertical drop of 80 m), a width of 100 m and a length of 500 m, it was the largest indoor ski slope in the world at the time.

Yatsu-higata is a tidal flat in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, 2km from Tokyo Bay. Once one of the largest tidal flats in Japan, much of the area has been reclaimed. Forty hectares of wetland were designated a Ramsar Site in 1993.

The Ebi River is a river in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is 2.67 kilometers in length and has a drainage area of 260 square kilometers . Under the Japan Rivers Act of 1906 the river is designated as a Class 2 River. The Ebi originates near Takanechō district of Funabashi and flows directly south into Tokyo Bay. The river has numerous small tributaries and serves as an important part of the drainage network of Funabashi.
