County Laois
County Laois is a county in Ireland. It is part of the Midlands Region and is also located in the province of Leinster. It was formerly known as Queen's County. Laois County Council is the local authority for the county. The population of the county is 80,559 according to the 2011 census - 20% higher than it was in the 2006 census which is the highest percentage population growth in the country.

Ballyfin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and gaelic football club located in the village of Ballyfin in County Laois, Ireland. The club colours are green and white. The club grounds are at Cappinrush, beside Ballyfin's Roman Catholic church. The current Laois senior hurling players Sean Lowry, John Joe McHugh and Dermot McGill are members of the club as is Oliver Phelan who managed Laois to their 1996 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship.

St Fintans, Mountrath is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling and gaelic football club in Mountrath, County Laois, Ireland. The club colours are red and white and the club grounds are called St Fintans GAA Grounds. The club is a senior hurling club and won its only Laois Senior Hurling Championship in 1942.
