Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet
The Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet (Nelson Piquet International Autodrome), also known as Jacarepaguá after the neighbourhood in which it was located, was a motorsport circuit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Opened in 1977, it hosted the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix on ten occasions, and was also used for CART, motorcycle racing and stock car racing. In 2012, it was demolished to make way for facilities to be used in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Jacarepaguá
Jacarepaguá, with a land area of 29.27 square miles is the 4th largest neighborhood in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2000, it had a population of 100,822, making it the 9th most populous neighborhood in the city. The name comes from the indigenous name of the location, "shallow pond of alligators", yakaré(alligator) + upá (pond) + guá (shallow), by the time of the Portuguese invasion.

In 1992, it hosted the United Nations Earth Summit. For the 2007 Pan American Games, it hosted a variety of events in several pavilions. The Maria Lenk Aquatic Park (Portuguese: Parque Aquático Maria Lenk) is an aquatics centre that is part of the City of Sports Complex, in Barra da Tijuca, part of the investments of the city Rio de Janeiro to host the swimming, synchronized swimming and diving competitions of the 2007 Pan American Games. The name of the water park is a tribute to the Brazilian swimmer Maria Lenk, who died less than three months before its inauguration.
