The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is a medium-sized public Australian university based in Tasmania, Australia. Officially founded on 1 January 1890, it was the fourth university to be established in nineteenth-century Australia. Salamanca Place
Salamanca Place is a precinct of Hobart, the capital city of the state of Tasmania. Salamanca Place itself consists of rows of sandstone buildings, formerly warehouses for the port of Hobart Town that have since been converted into restaurants, galleries, craft shops and offices. The Hutchins School
The Hutchins School is an independent, Anglican, day and boarding school for boys, located in Sandy Bay, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Hutchins is the only K-12 boys' school in the state of Tasmania, and with a student population of approximately 1000, including 50 boarders, it is also one of the largest private schools in the state. Established in 1846, the school is one of the oldest continually running schools in Australia.
Hobart College (Tasmania)
Hobart College is a senior secondary college located at Mount Nelson, in Hobart, Tasmania. In January 2009 it became the Hobart Campus of the Tasmanian Polytechnic and the Tasmanian Academy, formed as part of the Tasmania Tomorrow reforms, but the changes were reversed in 2011. Cascades Female Factory
The Cascades Female Factory, a former Australian workhouse for female convicts in the penal colony of Van Diemen's Land, is located in Hobart, Tasmania. Operational between 1828 and 1856, the factory is now one of the 11 sites that collectively comprise the Australian Convict Sites, listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO.

Mount Nelson, Tasmania
Mount Nelson is a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia above the Hobart suburb of Sandy Bay and to the south of Hobart's CBD. It is one of the oldest and more prestigious suburbs in Hobart. The main road in Mount Nelson is Nelson Road, which extends up the mountain from the Wrest Point Hotel Casino in the suburb of Sandy Bay. It is famously known for its "bends", which consist of seven very sharp corners created as the road winds its way up the mountain.
Battery Point, Tasmania
Battery Point is a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is immediately south of the Central business district. It is in the local government area of City of Hobart. Battery Point is named after the battery of guns which were established on the point in 1818 as part of the Hobart coastal defences. The battery no longer exists. The area is generally known as one of the city's more prestigious suburbs, with many large and extravagant homes and apartment blocks.

Macquarie Street, Hobart
Macquarie Street is one of the main streets of the central business district of the city of Hobart, capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is part of the A6, technically making it part of the Huon Highway. It also forms a One-way couplet with Davey Street in the opposite direction. The street starts at its junction with the Eastern Outlet, the Brooker Highway and Davey Street, near the historic Royal Engineers Building.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hobart is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Australia located in Hobart and covering Tasmania, Australia. Immediately subject to the Holy See, the area covered was initially administered by the Vicariate Apostolic of New Holland and Van Diemen’s Land. In 1842, the Vicariate Apostolic of Hobart was erected; elevated as a Diocese a few weeks later; and as an Archdiocese in 1888.
Jane Franklin Hall
Jane Franklin Hall in South Hobart, Tasmania, is a non-denominational residential college of the University of Tasmania. Familiarly referred to as ‘Jane’, it was founded by the Tasmanian Council of Churches in 1950 as a residential college for women before becoming co-educational in 1973. Jane is a non-denominational Christian institution unobtrusively supported by chaplains of various Christian faiths.
Tolmans Hill, Tasmania
Tolmans Hill is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is likely to be the last large scale greenfield suburban development to take place within Hobart city. At the 2011 Australian Census the suburb recorded a population of 490. There was much controversy when the Tolmans Hill development was first announced as planning permits were not widely made available to the public.

Dynnyrne, Tasmania
Dynnyrne is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. It is situated in the hills south-west of the city, surrounded by the suburbs of Sandy Bay, South Hobart and Tolmans Hill. Dynnyrne is Tasmania's second most affluent suburb according to documents released by the Australian Taxation Office. The postal code for Dynnyrne is 7005 which is shared with Sandy Bay. Many houses situated in Dynnyrne were constructed in the 1990s. Many parts of Dynnyrne have extensive views over the Derwent River.
Queen Alexandra Hospital, Hobart
The Queen Alexandra Hospital for Women was an Australian hospital established at Hobart, Tasmania in 1905 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902 on a site in Hampden Road, Battery Point. The hospital was primarily designed to care for women who were pregnant, in need of natal and neonatal care, and as a training hospital for midwives and nurses.
Hobart coastal defences
The Hobart coastal defences are a network of now defunct coastal batteries, some of which are inter-linked with tunnels, that were designed and built by British colonial authorities in the nineteenth century to protect the city of Hobart, Tasmania, from attack by enemy warships. During the nineteenth century, the port of Hobart Town was a vital re-supply stop for international shipping and trade, and therefore a major freight hub for the British Empire.

Print Radio Tasmania (callsign 7RPH) is a radio station based in Hobart, Tasmania. It is a reading and information service for those persons unable to read or easily access information in print. The station is run and operated by volunteers. Programs broadcast range from live reading of local and national newspapers to magazine and serialised book readings. Print Radio Tasmania was the first RPH station to go on-air in Australia on 26 June 1982, originally broadcasting on 1620AM.
Mount Carmel College, Sandy Bay
Mount Carmel College is an Independent Catholic school for girls, located in Sandy Bay, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It was established in 1942 by the Sisters of Charity. The school currently caters for approximately 540 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Boys are enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 2, and Girls from Kindergarten to Year 10.
Queenborough Oval
Queenborough Oval is the home headquarters of the Hutchins Old Boys Football Club and the South Hobart/Sandy Bay Cricket Club. The ground is a former Tasmanian Football League venue, being the former home of the Sandy Bay Football Club (now defunct) from 1945 to 1997. It is located on the corner of Nelson Road and Peel Street Sandy Bay, 5 kilometres South of the Hobart CBD.
