Yamba, New South Wales

Yamba is a town in northern New South Wales, Australia at the mouth of the Clarence River. The first European to visit the area was Matthew Flinders, who stopped by in Yamba Bay for six days in July 1799. The town economy is strongly based on fishing and tourism, but has a diverse range of influences, due to the 'Sea Change' phenomena and the large amount of baby boomers who are starting to retire to the warmer climates.

Iluka, New South Wales

Iluka is a small village at the mouth of the Clarence River in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated directly across the river from the resort town of Yamba. At the 2006 census, Iluka had a population of 1,739 people. The town's name is derived from an aboriginal word meaning 'near the sea'. It has long beaches on the ocean side of the river. It is reached by turning off the Pacific Highway approximately 20 kilometres north of Maclean.

Goodwood Island

Goodwood Island is an island situated between the main channel of the Clarence River and the river's north Arm near Iluka and Woombah, New South Wales Australia. It has a large wharf at the Port of Yamba where ocean traders collect cargo to take to New Zealand, Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island.

Iluka Nature Reserve

Iluka Nature Reserve is part of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rainforests of Australia inscribed in 1986 and added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2007. It is one of the last remaining littoral rainforests in the Southern Hemisphere. It contains many different plant species ranging from coastal dune species to tropical rainforest species. The Iluka rainforest has a vast range of native animal species ranging from wallabies and kangaroos to wombats and echidnas.

Clarence River Light

Clarence River Light, also known as Yamba Light or Clarence Head Light, is an active lighthouse located on Pilot Hill, a hill in Wooli Park, Yamba, New South Wales, Australia, south of the entrance of Clarence River. HMAS Waree

HMAS Waree (W128) was a tug boat operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) during World War II. She later operated as a tug boat for the Waratah Tug and Salvage Company before being requistioned by the RAN. She sank on 17 October 1946.
