Banner County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The population was 690 at the 2010 census. Its county seat is Harrisburg; there are no incorporated municipalities within the county. Banner County is part of the Scottsbluff, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area. In the Nebraska license plate system, Banner County is represented by the prefix 85 (it had the eighty-fifth-largest number of vehicles registered in the county when the license plate system was established in 1922).

Banner County Wind Farm
The Banner County Wind Farm is a proposal by the Chicago based Midwest Wind Energy company to construct a $60 million wind farm in Banner County, Nebraska. The 60,000 to 100,000 acre (24,000 to 40,000 ha) wind farm will have 600 to 800 turbines and a peak capacity of 2,000 megawatts. The wind farm was intentionally designed to be big in order to force the construction of improved transmission lines. It is expected that it could take 10 years to complete the project.
