Jackson County, Mississippi
Jackson County, Mississippi, is located at the southeastern tip of the state, bordering the state of Alabama on its east side. As of 2010, the population was 139,668. Its county seat is Pascagoula. Jackson County is named for U.S. President Andrew Jackson. Jackson County is included in the Pascagoula, Mississippi, Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county was severely damaged from both Hurricane Camille in August 1969 and Hurricane Katrina on August 28–29, 2005, causing catastrophic effects.

Gautier, Mississippi
Gautier is a city in Jackson County, Mississippi, along the Gulf of Mexico west of Pascagoula. It is part of the Pascagoula, Mississippi Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 18,572 at the 2010 census. In 2002, Gautier annexed land nearly doubling its population to 18,413, according to the Gautier Comprehensive Plan 2030. Locally, the name is pronounced as "GO-chay. " Descendants of the Gautier family, for whom it was named, still live in the area.

The population was 26,200 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Jackson County. Pascagoula is a major industrial city of Mississippi, along the Gulf Coast. Prior to World War II, the town was a sleepy fishing village of only about 5,000.

The Pascagoula Abduction occurred in 1973 when co-workers Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker claimed that they were abducted by aliens while fishing near Pascagoula, Mississippi. The case earned substantial mass media attention, and is, along with the earlier Hill Abduction, among the best-known claims of alien abduction.
Naval Station Pascagoula
Naval Station Pascagoula (NAVSTA Pascagoula) was a base of the United States Navy, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The base officially closed November 15, 2006. The base's property, on Singing River Island in the Mississippi Sound at the mouth of the Pascagoula River, was formally transferred to the Mississippi Secretary of State's office July 9, 2007.

Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Trent Lott International Airport is assigned PQL by the FAA and PGL by the IATA.
Shepard State Park
Shepard State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Mississippi. It is located off U.S. Highway 90 at Gautier, west of Pascagoula. WOSM is a radio station broadcasting a Southern Gospel music format. Licensed to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, USA, the station serves the Biloxi-Gulfport-Pascagoula area. The station is currently owned by Charles H. Cooper and features programing from AP Radio and Salem Communications. As Ocean Springs' first radio station, WOSM-FM covers local sports and community events in addition to gospel music and ministry.

The Pascagoula River High Rise Bridge is a bridge in the US state of Mississippi which carries U.S. Route 90 over the East Branch of the Pascagoula River between Gautier and Pascagoula. The bridge opened on June 23, 2003 as a replacement for 4-lane drawbridge.
Round Island Light (Mississippi)
Round Island Lighthouse stood from 1859 to 1998 on the southwest end of Round Island in the Mississippi Sound, 4 miles (6.5 kilometers) south of Pascagoula, Mississippi. In September 1998, the lighthouse was toppled by Hurricane Georges. In 2010, the base of the structure and other lighthouse remnants were removed from Round Island and relocated within the City of Pascagoula for restoration.
