Troy is a city in Pike County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,033. Troy experienced a growth spurt of over 4,000+ people since 2000. The city is the county seat of Pike County. Troy is a college town and is home to Troy University.

Charles Henderson High School
Charles Henderson High School is a grades 9-12 high school located in the city of Troy, Alabama. The namesake of the school, Charles Henderson, was the governor of the state of Alabama from 1915-1919. After his death in 1937, Henderson left some of his considerable estate to family members, but most of his money was used to establish a perpetual trust to fund education and healthcare in Troy.
Trojan Oaks Golf Course
Trojan Oaks Golf Course was a 9-hole championship golf course on the campus of Troy University. It is for use by the general public, golf team, and students. Students are given a discount on Tuesday and Wednesday to encourage teenage and young adult participation in the sport. The Trojan Oaks is 3,211 yards from the longest tee. The par for the course is 36 with a course rating of 35.5 and a slope rating of 125. The greens and fairways are both Bermuda grass.

Troy High School was a public high school in Troy, Alabama. It was built in 1917. It was designed by architect Frank Lockwood. The school was replaced by Charles Henderson High School. The building was demolished in 2010. A public library is planned to be built on the site. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
