Geneva is a city in and the county seat of Geneva County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Dothan, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is also the largest city of Geneva County, and has a population of 4,388 according to the 2000 census.

Geneva County massacre
The Geneva County massacre on March 10, 2009, was perpetrated by Michael Kenneth McLendon, a 28-year-old gunman, who shot and killed ten people in a shooting spree in three communities in two southern Alabama counties: Kinston in Coffee County, and Samson and Geneva in Geneva County. Five of the victims were family members and two were children. After engaging in an exchange of fire with police, he committed suicide, bringing the total of dead to eleven.
