Castle Hill, Queensland
Castle Hill is an isolated pink granite monolith standing in the heart of the north Queensland city of Townsville. It rises to a height of some 286 metres (938 ft) above sea level and dominates the city skyline. It is one of the most distinctive natural features on the Queensland coast. There are a number of vantage points from which to view the city below and also across Cleveland Bay to nearby Magnetic Island.

Aitkenvale, Queensland
Aitkenvale is a suburb of Townsville, North Queensland, Australia. It is named after Thomas Aitken, the original grantee of Portion 38, Parish of Coonambelah. He began subdividing the property during the 1880s, putting 440 quarter-acre residential allotments on the market in 1885. A dairy farm was established in the region by Thomas Aitken in about 1867. Aitkenvale is now a major commercial and residential district of the city.

Hyde Park, Queensland
Hyde Park is a suburb of Townsville, Australia. It is located north of Mysterton, west of Hermit Park, east of Pimlico, and south of West End, and its postcode is 4812. As part of the development of Townsville, sugar plantations were established at Hyde Park in 1866. In 1918, Hyde Park was transferred from the Thuringowa Shire to the City of Townsville by a ballot.
Townsville Grammar School
Townsville Grammar School is an independent, co-educational, day, International Baccalaureate and boarding school, located in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Established in 1888, it is the oldest co-educational school on the Australian mainland. It is the most northern member of the Grammar school system in Australia. During World War II the school was acquired by the Royal Australian Air Force for use as barracks accommodation for the No. 3 Fighter Sector RAAF.
Green Street bunker
The Green Street bunker at West End (Townsville), Queensland, Australia is also known as the Sidney Street bunker and Project 81. It was built by the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II. The erection of the Green Street bunker (Project 81) at the end of Sidney Street in West End was approved on 12 March 1942. The road up Castle Hill was closed to traffic on about 12 March 1942 to ensure the construction of military facilities such as this bunker were not obvious.

West End is an old suburb of Townsville, Queensland, situated at the base of Castle Hill. The first community cemetery is located in West End. A reflection of attitudes existing during the time it was in use, research has established that it was ethnically segregated. It has been reported that there are separate areas where, at least, Chinese and Aboriginal deceased were interred.

The school was formed in 1988 from the remnants of the former St John Fischer's School that was located on the current site of the Marian School.
