Halifax Bay Wetlands National Park
Halifax Bay Wetlands is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 1179 km northwest of Brisbane. The one island in the park is Pandora Reef.
Paluma, Queensland
Paluma is a township of around 25 permanent residents in the Mount Spec ranges of Townsville's heritage-listed Wet Tropics. Paluma developed from a mining and forestry background. The first people to arrive here were tin prospectors in the 1870s after an abundance of tin in the mountains. The area remained isolated until a road was built up the range in the 1930s. This industry lasted for years until landowners worked together to shut it down.
Paluma Dam
Lake Paluma is a drinking water storage facility owned by NQ Water and is situated close to Mount Spec, high above the Paluma Range National Park. Lake Paluma has a capacity of 11,800 megalitres. The dam is part of a unique water supply system that gravity feeds up to 50 megalitres of water per day to the city of Townsville.
Little Crystal Creek Bridge
The Little Crystal Creek Bridge is an arch bridge over Little Crystal Creek, on Mount Spec Road to Paluma, North Queensland, Australia. The bridge situated 61 km north of Townsville provides access to the Paluma Range National Park. Mount Spec Road including the bridge was constructed between 1930 and 1936 under the Unemployment Relief Scheme during the Great Depression. The road was constructed in hilly terrain by a large labour force using limited mechanical assistance.

Mutarnee is a small rural/residential township approximately 67 kilometres north-east of Townsville, Queensland, Australia and 44 kilometres south-east of Ingham. It is situated on the banks of Crystal Creek and is within close proximity to the rainforest village of Paluma Facilities at Mutarnee include a state primary school, a recreational waterhole, and a camping area at nearby Crystal Creek.
Pandora Reef
Pandora Reef is a low-lying island in addition to being an adjacent fringing reef. It is in Halifax Bay in Queensland, Australia. It is 13 kilometres from the Greater Palm group. The name Pandora Reef dates back to at least 1889. The surrounding waters are in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in the Coral Sea. The GBRMPA designation is 18-051. Zoned as a Marine National Park, fishing is not permitted, although diving and photography are allowed.
