Noosa Heads, Queensland
Noosa Heads is one of the three major centres of the Noosa region on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is located 136 kilometres north of Brisbane, the state's capital. The Noosa River forms one boundary of the town, the headlands of the Noosa National Park another. Nearby are the suburbs of Tewantin and Noosa Junction, which create a continuous urban area at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast.
Cooroy, Queensland
Cooroy is a town in Queensland, Australia, located in the northern Sunshine Coast hinterland about 22 kilometres west of Noosa Heads. Cooroy's name came from Cooroy Mountain, which was originally called Coorooey, from the Aboriginal word for possum, kurui. Cooroy has one hotel, a golf club, a bowls club, the RSL club and sub branch, a selection of cafes and restaurants, unique retail outlets and a range of accommodation options.
Shire of Noosa
The Shire of Noosa is a local government area about 130 kilometres north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast region of South East Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of 868.7 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1910 until 2008, when it amalgamated with the Shire of Maroochy and City of Caloundra to form the Sunshine Coast Region. The local Noosa council will be restored in 2014 after residents there voted to leave the amalgamated Sunshine Coast council.

Noosa District State High School
Noosa District State High School is a twin campus high school based in Cooroy and Pomona, Queensland. The school was established in 1963, and has approximately 1250 students. It is the longest-established secondary school in Noosa area. The school has two campuses in Cooroy (head campus) and Pomona. The Pomona Campus was originally the Cooroora Secondary College before the two schools merged. Years 8–9 are taught at the Pomona campus while all years are taught at the Cooroy campus.
Boreen Point, Queensland
Boreen Point is a small town north of Tewantin on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. The name comes from an Aboriginal word from the tribes around Moreton Bay which refers to the pathway that led between two bora rings. One of Boreen Point's major attractions is Lake Cootharaba, a very large, shallow lake that is recognised nationally for its fantastic weather for sailing and windsurfing. The lake leads from the Noosa River and also up to national parks.

Cooroy is a railway station on the Nambour and Gympie North Line of South East Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. The station is in Zone 22 of the TransLink integrated public transport system. It is also served by daily Traveltrain electric tilt train services to Bundaberg and Rockhampton.

Noosa Civic
Noosa Civic is a shopping centre located west of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Major stores include Woolworths and Big W and the centre includes over 8,000 square metres of specialty retail stores. The development commenced construction in 2005 and stage one, consisting of 30,000 square metres of retail and commercial development in four precincts was opened in October 2006.
Lake Cootharaba
Lake Cootharaba is a lake on the Noosa River. It is the gateway to the Everglades, a popular tourist attraction for Noosa, being 20 km away from Noosa. The lake's major access is the town of Boreen Point, as well as the smaller camping-spot of Elanda Point.

Kuri'bigil'ba is the name of Cooroy Mountain in the dialect of the now extinct Kabi speaking aboriginal peoples of this area. It means the place where the Sun God came down to Dha (Earth). It is believed the mountain turned yellow once a year due to the flowering of an unknown tree.

Teewah Beach
Teewah Beach is a beach just north of the town of Noosa in Queensland, Australia. It forms the eastern boundary of the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park. The beach extends from approximately 25°56'11"S, 153°11'18"E to 26°22'44"S, 153°04'38"E, a distance of about 51 kilometres. Its northern extent is bounded by Double Island Point. Its southern extent is bounded by the Noosa River. Many people living in Noosa and surrounding areas refer to the southern end as "the north shore".

The Noosa River is a river situated in South East Queensland. The catchment starts in Wahpoonga Range near Mount Elliot in the coastal Great Sandy National Park and meanders south through a lakes district around Tewantin. Lakes situated on the river include Lake Cooloola, Lake Como, Lake Cootharaba, Lake Cooroibah and Lake Weyba. The catchment is mostly covered by sand dunes and has two major tributaries—Gin Gin Creek and Teewah Creek.
