Division of Blair

The Division of Blair is an Australian Electoral Division in Queensland. The division was created in 1998 and is named after Harold Blair, an Aboriginal singer and civil rights campaigner. The Division is based in the rural areas west of Brisbane and includes parts of Ipswich and the Scenic Rim and Lockyer Valley regions. The founder of One Nation, Pauline Hanson, contested Blair in 1998, shifting from her previous seat, Oxley.

Stanley River (Queensland)

The Stanley River in Queensland is the main tributary of the Brisbane River. The Stanley River valley extends roughly 35 km westwards from the area south of Maleny, through Woodford to Kilcoy before veering southwards. It is dammed by the Somerset Dam built seven km upstream from its confluence with the Brisbane River. The dam was the principal water supply for Brisbane for some fifty years until the construction of the Wivenhoe Dam was completed, forming Lake Wivenhoe.

Toogoolawah, Queensland

Toogoolawah is a small town in South East Queensland, Australia. Toogoolawah is a centre for gliding and parachuting and in the past the centre of a dairying industry. Cressbrook Creek, a tributary of the Brisbane River, passes through the town as does the Brisbane Valley Highway. At the 2006 census, Toogoolawah had a population of 955. The town is located in the Somerset Region local government area. There are three pubs in Toogoolawah, all situated on the main road.

Lake Somerset

Lake Somerset is an artificial lake created by the Somerset Dam on the Stanley River in South East Queensland. The dam was completed in 1953 providing flood mitigation and water storage for the cities of Brisbane and Ipswich and is the site of a small 4 MW hydroelectric power station. At full capacity the lake holds 904,000 megalitres. Under normal conditions 380,000 megalitres is reserved for water supply, but the dam can hold another 524,000 megalitres to temporarily store flood waters.

Kilcoy is a small farming town and part of the Somerset Region local government area in South East Queensland, Australia. The township is on the D'Aguilar Highway, 94 kilometres north west of the state capital, Brisbane, and just to the north of Lake Somerset. The topography directly north of the town is dominated by the mountains of the Conondale Range and covered by forests, some of which are protected in state forests and the Conondale National Park.
