Officially established on 27 March 1971, the suburb used to act as a gateway to Moreton Island via the Combie Trader barge, but this service was recently sold.
Bribie Island
Bribie Island, 34 kilometres long and 8 kilometres at its widest, is the smallest and most northerly of three major sand islands forming the coastline sheltering the northern part of Moreton Bay, Queensland. The others are Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island. Bribie island, hugging the coastline and tapering to a long spit at its most northern point near Caloundra, is separated from the mainland by the Pumicestone Passage.
Ningi, Queensland
Ningi is a suburb north of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. The origin of the suburb name is from the Aboriginal Ningi Ningi group. The main township of Ningi is located on Bribie Island Road. At the northern area of Ningi is a housing estate called Bribie Pines, mostly inhabited by the elderly. There are two other housing estates in the area: Grey Gums Estate located on the road out to Godwin Beach, and the newly-developed Sandstone Lakes.
Dolphin Oval
Dolphin Oval, based on the corner of Ashmole and Klingner Roads in Kippa-Ring, north of Brisbane, is the home ground for the Redcliffe Dolphins rugby league football club, who play in the Queensland Wizard Cup. The ground regularly hosts pre-season NRL trials, and hosted the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Queensland Cup Grand Finals.

Deception Bay is a suburb north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Moreton Bay Region and is located approximately 32 km north of Brisbane in the south-eastern corner of the bay of the same name which separates the Redcliffe peninsula and Bribie Island. Deception Bay was named in 1823 by Lt John Oxley, who thought the bay was a river and because of his mistake and the shallowness, named it Pumice Stone River; he later changed the name to Deception Bay.

Caboolture River
The Caboolture River is a small river in South East Queensland. It rises in the D'Aguilar Range near Ocean View and flows through Caboolture and Morayfield before entering Deception Bay at Beachmere. The catchment covers 468 km². There are no dams on the waterway, except for a weir and the only major crossing is the Bruce Highway bridge. The Caboolture River is tidal for 19 km upstream to the Caboolture Weir. At the river mouth a sand bar reduces the impact of tidal energy.

Redcliffe Showgrounds
The Redcliffe Showgrounds is a showground in Redcliffe, Queensland for the annual Redcliffe Show the June holidays. Whilst the show isn't on, it is home to the Redcliffe Darts club, Redcliffe Bingo as well as PCYC Over 35 soccer club. It used to be the main field for the Redcliffe Dolphins up until 1982 before the club moved to Dolphin Oval, but still serves as a training ground.

Bribie Island Seaside Museum opened on 14 May 2010 at 1 South Esplanade, Bongaree, on the Pumicestone Passage side of Bribie Island, Moreton Bay Region in Queensland, Australia. It is run by Moreton Bay Regional Council. The purpose-built museum has a contemporary design, naturally lit interiors, polished hardwood floors, dark ceilings and a facade of timber slats with views to the landscape and beach beyond. A micro-cinema seats around 10 with another 5 standing.

The airfield is maintained and operated by the Caboolture Aero Club Incorporated and shares a large training area with nearby Caloundra Airport and Redcliffe Airport.
