Mowbray is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 1441 km northwest of Brisbane. The park forms part of the Wooroonooran Important Bird Area, identified as such by BirdLife International because it supports populations of a range of bird species endemic to Queensland’s Wet Tropics.
Port Douglas, Queensland
Port Douglas is a town in Far North Queensland, Australia, approximately 70 km north of Cairns. Its permanent population was 4,772 at the time of the 2011 census. The town's population can often double, however, with the influx of tourists during the peak tourism season May–September. The town is named in honour of former Premier of Queensland, John Douglas. Port Douglas developed quickly based on the mining industry.
Ellis Beach, Queensland
Ellis Beach is a locality in Tropical North Queensland, Australia. It lies on the Coral Sea. At the 2006 census, Ellis Beach had a population of 30. The five-kilometre strip of Ellis Beach is located 20 km north of Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Port Douglas, within the Cairns Region local government area. Ellis Beach is also home to the Ellis Beach Surf Lifesaving Club which regularly hosts competitions and events.
Mona Mona Mission
The Mona Mona Aboriginal Mission is a former Seventh-day Adventist mission established near Kuranda, Queensland, Australia. In 1913, large numbers, particularly of Djabugay people, were rounded up and forcibly taken to the mission. Until 1940 it was almost self-sufficient, growing its own food, and cutting and milling timber. After this period, soil fertility deteriorated and with the increasing costs, the mission soon became unviable. Also the city of Cairns was growing and needed more water.

The Bally Hooley Steam Railway is a heritage railway operating in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia. It operates on approximately 4 km of 610 mm gauge line from the Marina Mirage to Saint Crispin's Station. The railway is operated by a group of volunteers and runs services on Sundays.
Quaid Road
Quaid Road is a 32 km long stretch of private road in Far North Queensland. The road was given corridor approval and completed in early 1989 through rainforest that was later declared Wet Tropics World Heritage Area in late 1989 and links Wangetti, on the coast just north of Cairns, to Southedge, just south of Mount Molloy.
County of Solander
The county of Solander is a cadastral division of Queensland which contains the towns of Ayton, Daintree, Mossman and Port Douglas. It was originally the southern part of the county of Banks when the counties were named and bounded in 1901.
