Byron Bay, New South Wales

Byron Bay is a beachside town located in the far-northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 772 kilometres north of Sydney and 165 kilometres south of Brisbane. Cape Byron, a headland adjacent to the town, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia. At the 2006 Census, the town had a permanent population of 4,981. Minyon Falls is a waterfall in the Nightcap National Park, New South Wales, Australia. Standing at over 100 metres high, this waterfall is a popular visitor attraction and is located within easy reach of the nearby town of Byron Bay. The falls themselves are the result of the water of Repentance Creek flowing over the huge rhyolite cliffs which were once part of the Tweed Volcano. The water flow eroded the underlying basalt away to create the 100-metre waterfall.

MV Tassie III

MV Tassie III (S-77) was a 120 ton steel motor vessel, which was requisitioned by the United States Army Small Ships during the Second World War and was carrying 80 tons of condemned ammunition and was wrecked {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:-28.638795|153.613906|type:landmark_region:AU|||||| |primary |name= }} while sheltering at the jetty at Byron Bay on 9 June 1945.
