Washington-Lee High School
Washington-Lee High School (often simply called "W-L") is one of three traditional public high schools in the Arlington Public Schools district in Arlington, Virginia, covering grades 9-12. As of 2011, the school had over 2,000 students and 120 teachers. In 2010, W-L was listed at # 63 in Newsweek's listing of "America's Best High Schools," and # 3 in the state of Virginia.
Ballston–MU (WMATA station)
Ballston–MU is a side platformed Washington Metro station in Arlington, Virginia, United States. The station opened on December 1, 1979, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The station presently serves only the Orange Line, but is also planned to be on the Silver Line, which is scheduled to start operations in 2013. The station serves the transit-oriented community of Ballston, Ballston Common Mall as well as Marymount University (MU).

The Custis Trail is a hilly 4 miles, paved bicycle trail in Arlington County, Virginia that extends from Key Bridge at Rosslyn westward to the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Trail. It connects at its east end to the Mount Vernon Trail, which continues east and south along the Potomac River to Mount Vernon and at its west end to the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Trail, which continues northwest to Purcellville, Virginia.
Ballston Common Mall
Ballston Common Mall, which originally opened as Parkington Shopping Center in 1951, was one of the first major suburban shopping centers in the Washington D.C. area. It was the first shopping center built around a multi-story parking garage in the United States. It is located at the intersection of Glebe Road and Wilson Boulevard in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia, two blocks from Ballston-MU Station on the Washington Metro's Orange Line.

Battle of Arlington Mills
The Battle of Arlington Mills, Virginia was a small skirmish that was one of the first military engagements of the American Civil War. It occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on the night of June 1, 1861. The Battle of Fairfax Court House (June 1861) took place earlier that day. The skirmish at Arlington Mills occurred a week after the Union Army occupation of the area of Virginia opposite Washington, D.C. on May 24, 1861.
