Balch Springs is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. It is a suburb of Dallas and part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The population was 23,728 at the 2010 census.
Mesquite ProRodeo
The Mesquite ProRodeo is a rodeo located in Mesquite, Texas that operates during rodeo season (roughly April through September). Named the Mesquite Championship Rodeo prior to its purchase by Camelot Sports and Entertainment in 2009, it is also addressed as simply the Mesquite Rodeo. Founded in 1958 by Neal Gay as a permanent rodeo (as opposed to many other rodeos that would move from town to town), the rodeo struggled in the early years, but grew as the city of Mesquite grew.

It stands between West Mesquite High School and Memorial Stadium. "Stormy the Skeeter" is the school mascot for the school's various athletic teams (all known with some variant of the word "Skeeter") and the school's colors are Maroon and White.

Memorial Stadium is a stadium in Mesquite, Texas. It was built in 1977 and is located on the campus of West Mesquite High School, next to Mesquite Tower. The field is primarily used for football, and all five High Schools in Mesquite share use of the field. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people, making it one of the largest high school football stadiums in Texas. Due to its size and central location, the field is often used as a neutral-site for Texas High School Football playoff games.
West Mesquite High School
West Mesquite High School is a secondary school in Mesquite, Texas, United States. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Mesquite Independent School District. The school serves the western portion of Mesquite and most of the MISD portion of Balch Springs. The school mascot is the Wrangler. The school is located near the Mesquite Championship Rodeo arena (now named the Resistol Arena), and was actually built on land once owned by the Rodeo.
