Briarwood, Queens
Briarwood is a middle class neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. It is located northwest of Jamaica and roughly bounded by Queens Boulevard, Parsons Boulevard, Union Turnpike, and Hillside Avenue. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 8. It is serviced by the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway at the Briarwood–Van Wyck Boulevard station. It lies in the northern half of the 11435 zip code.
Archbishop Molloy High School
Archbishop Molloy High School (also called Molloy, Archbishop Molloy, or AMHS) is a co-educational, college preparatory, Catholic school for grades 9-12, located on 6 acres in the Briarwood section of Queens in New York City, thirty minutes east of Manhattan. Molloy currently has an endowment of about $6,000,000 (as of Nov. 2010). The school's current principal is Br. Thomas Schady, who started his term in July 2009.

This station has two levels; the upper level serves the IND Archer Avenue Line, while the BMT line uses the lower level. Each level has two tracks and an island platform.

Briarwood – Van Wyck Boulevard (pronounced "Van Wike") is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 84th Drive and the Van Wyck Expressway, in Briarwood, Queens, it is served by the F train at all times and E evenings, late nights and weekends (it bypasses this station weekdays during midday and rush hours). This station has two side platforms and four tracks.
Jamaica – Van Wyck (IND Archer Avenue Line)
Jamaica – Van Wyck is a station on the IND Archer Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the E train at all times and is the only non-transfer station on the E that is not served by any other train. This is a single level station with two tracks and an island platform. The mezzanine is suspended above the Jamaica-bound track via heavy cables linked to the station roof.
Sutphin Boulevard (IND Queens Boulevard Line)
Sutphin Boulevard is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at Sutphin Boulevard and Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, it is served by the F train at all times. This underground station, opened, April 24, 1937, has four tracks and two side platforms. The two center express tracks are used by the limited rush hour E service to Jamaica – 179th Street.

Metropolitan Avenue (BMT Jamaica Line)
Metropolitan Avenue was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Jamaica Line. It had 2 tracks and 2 side platforms, with space for a 3rd track in the center. This station was built as part of the Dual Contracts. It opened December 12, 1916, and closed on April 15, 1985. The next stop to the north was Queens Boulevard. The next stop to the south was 121st Street. Metropolitan Avenue was closed because the rest of the Jamaica Line was connected to the Archer Avenue Subway.

Queens Boulevard was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Jamaica Line. It had two tracks and two side platforms, with space for a third track in the center. This station was built as part of the Dual Contracts. It opened December 12, 1916. The next stop to the north was Sutphin Boulevard. The next stop to the south was Metropolitan Avenue. It was closed because the rest of the Jamaica Line had to be connected to the Archer Avenue Subway.

Kew Gardens train crash
The Kew Gardens train crash is the worst railway accident of Long Island Rail Road history, and one of the worst in New York State history. It happened during the evening rush hour of November 22, 1950 between Kew Gardens and Jamaica stations in New York City and killed 78 people. At the date of the crash this was described as being in the neighborhood Richmond Hill but subsequent boundary changes mean the site is now considered to be in Kew Gardens.
