Chateaugay is a village located in Franklin County New York, USA. The population was 833 at the 2010 census. The village and town are named after a village near Lyon in France, which became the name of a land grant in Canada. The Village of Chateaugay is located in the Town of Chateaugay, northwest of the Village of Malone.
Chateaugay Correctional Facility
Chateaugay Correctional Facility (ASACTC) is a medium security prison and state Alcohol & Substance Abuse Correctional Treatment Center in Franklin County, New York, USA. The prison is in the town of Chateaugay. Chateaugay C.F. along with other upstate facilities, provide employment in an otherwise depressed economy. The prison opened in 1990. What used to be know as an ASACTC correctional program, has now turned into a facility for repeat parole violators as of mid 2000's.
