Waverly Fairgrounds or Waverly Park was the home of the Elizabeth Resolutes baseball club. The Resolutes participated in the National Association 1873 season, so Waverly is considered a major league ballpark by those who count the NA as a major league. The park was located in a community called Waverly, which was bordered by Lower Road, Haynes Avenue, and Frelinghuysen Street. Elizabeth Station is a New Jersey Transit station 15.4 miles southwest of New York on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It is between Broad Street and West Grand Street on an embankment and a viaduct. This station is often called Broad Street Elizabeth to distinguish it from North Elizabeth station. A number of bus lines have stops near this station.

North Elizabeth Station is a lightly used New Jersey Transit station on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines on North Avenue in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Service at this station is limited, with four trains (two round trips) on weekends and holidays, and a total of 49 trains on weekdays. (Elizabeth station a mile away has 83 trains on weekend/holidays and 117 on weekdays. ) NJ Transit built the present station in 1987, replacing a stop with low-level platforms.

Elizabeth Township, also called Elizabethtown, was a township that existed in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, from 1664 until 1855. The area was initially part of the Elizabethtown Tract, purchased from the Lenape on October 28, 1664. Elizabeth-Town Township was formed on October 31, 1693, while the area was still within Essex County.
