Bangor, Maine
Bangor is a city in and the county seat of Penobscot County, Maine, United States, and the major commercial and cultural center for eastern and northern Maine. It is the principal city of the Bangor, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Penobscot County. As of 2008, Bangor is the third most-populous city in Maine, as it has been for more than a century. The population of the city was 33,039 at the 2010 census; the Bangor Metropolitan Statistical Area, 153,923.
John Bapst Memorial High School
John Bapst Memorial High School is a private, independent, college preparatory high school in Bangor, Maine, United States. It serves approximately 450 ninth through twelfth grade students from 50 different communities in the region. The majority of students who attend John Bapst Memorial High school come from the towns of Orrington, Glenburn, Veazie, Dedham, School Administrative District 63, Milford, Bradley, and Orland.
Penobscot Theatre Company
Penobscot Theatre Company, America's Northeastern-most professional theatre company, was started in 1973 by George Vafiadis and Lou Collier as the Acadia Repertory Theatre. Penobscot Theatre Company was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) on March 17, 1983. The School For Wives was the first play officially produced by the PTC - before that, Acadia Rep was responsible for presenting 97 productions in Bangor. Acadia Rep still operates on Mount Desert Island as a separate entity.
Penobscot River Bridge
The Penobscot River Bridge was a truss bridge between Bangor and Brewer, Maine. It was constructed by the American Bridge Company in 1902, with further construction in 1911 by the Boston Bridge Works. According to the Historic American Engineering Record, it was the last remaining Baltimore (Petit) through-truss bridge in Maine. While it was designed for loads of up to 15 tons, it was reduced to 3 tons shortly before its replacement in 1997 by the "New Penobscot Bridge" It carried U.S.

WAEI (910 AM; "Fox Sports Maine 910") is a radio station broadcasting a sports radio format. Licensed to Bangor, Maine, USA, the station serves the Bangor area. The station is currently owned by Blueberry Broadcasting and features programing from Fox Sports Radio. The station's branding is similar to sister station Fox Sports Maine based out of Augusta; however, WAEI is operated separately.

The Great Fire of 1911 took place in Bangor, Maine. A small fire that started in a downtown shed went out of control and destroyed hundreds of commercial and residential buildings.
Bangor Public Library
The Bangor Public Library is the public library serving Bangor, Maine. The library was first founded in 1830 as the Bangor Mechanic Association's private library. In 1873, several other associations' libraries combined with it to form the Bangor Mechanic Association Public Library. In 1883, former U.S. Congressman and lumber baron Samuel F. Hersey left the City of Bangor a $100,000 bequest, which the City used to form a municipally-owned public library.
Eastern Maine Community College
Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) is a community college in Bangor, Maine. It offers over 30 one- and two-year degree programs. Eastern Maine was established in 1966 by act of the Maine Legislature, as Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute (EMVTI). In 1989, the name was changed to Eastern Maine Technical College (EMTC), and changed again in 2003 from "Technical" to "Community".
