S. D. Warren Paper Mill

S. D. Warren Paper Mill is a small mill built on the Presumpscot River in the 1730s in a rural and fairly unpopulated area. In 1854, that small paper mill, in the soon-to-be established town of Westbrook, Maine, was purchased for $28,000 by Samuel Dennis Warren. The mill was named Grant, Warren and Company. In that year, the mill was only running two paper machines and had a production output of about 3,000 pounds of paper per day.

Walker Memorial Library

The Walker Memorial Library is an historic library building located in Westbrook, Maine, USA. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The library began in 1802 and was fully funded in 1891 through the will of local resident Joseph Walker. An addition to the 1894 structure was added in 1989 via municipal bond. The building was closed September 2007 to February 2008 for repairs.

Smiling Hill Farm

Smiling Hill Farm is a 500 acre traditional New England farm encompassing parts of the municipalities of Westbrook, Scarborough, and Gorham, Maine. Founded in 1720 as the homestead of Nathaniel Knight, the 12th generation descendents continue to operate the farm today. Known as the "Knight Farm", the farm was renamed "Smiling Hill Farm" by Roger D. Knight in 1974. Roger named the farm after a favorite childhood book "Smiling Hill Farm" by Miriam E. Mason (1937).
