Portland, Louisville
Portland is a neighborhood and former independent town northwest of downtown Louisville, Kentucky. It is situated along a bend of the Ohio River just below the Falls of the Ohio, where the river curves to the north and then to the south, thus placing Portland at the northern tip of urban Louisville.
Shawnee, Louisville
Shawnee is a neighborhood in western Louisville, Kentucky. Its boundaries are the Ohio River on the West, Bank Street and the Portland neighborhood on the North, I-264 on the East, and West Broadway on the South. Maps sometimes identify the area as Shawneeland. Shawnee Park was completed in 1892 and residential districts sprung up around it quickly. In 1895, Louisville annexed Shawnee and extended street car lines.
Chickasaw, Louisville
Chickasaw is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Its boundaries are West Broadway, 34th Street, Hale Avenue and Chickasaw Park. Chickasaw Park is predominantly black and middle-class. Before integration, Shawnee Park was reserved for whites, while Chickasaw Park was reserved for blacks. Integration has led to a decrease in use for Chickasaw as more persons prefer the larger Shawnee to the north. As of 2000, the population of Chickasaw was 5,517 .

The Sherman Minton Bridge is a double-deck through arch bridge spanning the Ohio River, carrying I-64 and US 150 over the river between Kentucky and Indiana. The bridge connects the west side of Louisville, Kentucky to downtown New Albany, Indiana.
Kentucky & Indiana Terminal Bridge
The Kentucky & Indiana Terminal Bridge is a railroad bridge connecting Louisville, Kentucky to New Albany, Indiana. Constructed from 1881 to 1885 by the Kentucky and Indiana Bridge Company, it opened in 1886. Originally, it included a single standard gauge track and two wagon ways, allowing wagons and other animal powered vehicles to cross the Ohio River by a method other than ferry for the first time. At the time motorized vehicles were virtually nonexistent.

The Academy @ Shawnee (formerly, Shawnee High School Magnet Career Academy), is a magnet high school in the Jefferson County Public School District in Louisville, Kentucky, with a focus in Aerospace. Qualifying students choose from Aerospace-Flight, Aerospace-Maintenance, Aerospace-Travel & Tourism, Aerospace Engineering, and the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps.
Carnegie Center for Art & History
The Carnegie Center for Art & History, within the Downtown Historic District of New Albany, Indiana, is a local museum. The building was initially built as a Carnegie Library, first opened on March 2, 1904, with 11,125 total books. It is of Beaux-Arts architecture style. It was used as a library until 1969, when the new New Albany library was built. In 1971 it became the Floyd County Museum. In 1998 it was given its current name, after several renovations.
Flaget High School
Flaget High School was a Catholic College preparatory high school in Louisville, Kentucky's West End from 1942 until 1974. It was located throughout its existence at 44th and River Park Drive, in the Shawnee neighborhood of Louisville.
