Located in Los Angeles, California, the Sepulveda Dam is a project of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, built in 1941 to withhold winter flood waters along the Los Angeles River. It is located south of center in the San Fernando Valley, about eight miles east of the river's official source in the western end of the Valley. Sepulveda Dam, along with Hansen Dam in the north San Fernando Valley, was constructed after the historic 1938 floods on the Los Angeles River which killed 144 people.
Sepulveda Pass
Sepulveda Pass (elevation 1130 ft or 334 m) is a mountain pass through the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles. It connects the Los Angeles Basin to the San Fernando Valley via the San Diego Freeway (I-405) and Sepulveda Boulevard and experiences heavy traffic (over 330,000 cars a day) on a regular basis, commonly experiencing major traffic slowdowns and jams. Currently the 405 is being widened by LACMTA, Los Angeles's transportation authority. This project will take at least 3 years.

Monarch Stadium
Monarch Stadium is a 6,000-seat multipurpose stadium in Valley Glen, California on the campus of Los Angeles Valley College. It was built in 1951, and has always been the home of the college's Monarchs football, soccer and track and field teams. Grant High School, which is adjacent to Valley College, also plays its home football and soccer games here. It also hosts its track meets at the stadium. The stadium was remodeled in 2006 and also hosts other sporting events and community events.

Stone Canyon Reservoir
Stone Canyon Reservoir and Upper Stone Canyon Reservoir are adjoining reservoirs in West Los Angeles, California, located in the northeastern Bel Air neighborhood of Beverly Glen. Situated in the Santa Monica hills at 847 feet above sea level, it lies south off Mulholland Drive, and west of North Beverly Glen Boulevard. The main reservoir is the Stone Canyon Reservoir with the much smaller, cone-shaped Upper Stone Canyon Reservoir adjoining it to the north.
