Colwyn
The Borough of Colwyn was one of six districts of the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales, from 1974 to 1996. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1972 from the following parts of the administrative county of Denbighshire: The municipal borough of Colwyn Bay The urban district of Abergele Parts of the rural districts of Aled and Hiraethog. Llanfair Talhaiarn (also spelled Llanfair Talhaearn and sometimes abbreviated to Llanfair TH) is a village approximately 5 miles south of Abergele in Conwy county borough, Wales, formerly in Denbighshire. The village derives its name from the church dedicated to Mary "Llanfair" and the bardic name of the poet and architect John Jones (January 1810 – October 1869) which was "Talhaiarn". Jones was born at the Harp Inn (now known as Hafod y Gân) in Llanfair.
