Abergele rail disaster

The Abergele rail disaster, which took place near the town of Abergele, on the north coast of Wales in 1868, was, at the time, the worst railway disaster yet in Britain, and also the most alarming. Cefn yr Ogof

Cefn yr Ogof is the highest point of the hill to the west of Gwrych Castle near Abergele and Llanddulas. It is 204 m (669 ft) high. The views from the top are one of the hidden delights of the North Wales coast with views towards the Clwydian Hills, Denbigh Moors, (Mynydd Hiraethog) Snowdonia, the Great Orme, Anglesey and the Dulas valley. Llanddulas

Llanddulas is a village in Conwy county borough, Wales midway between Old Colwyn and Abergele and next to the North Wales Expressway. The village lies beneath the limestone hill of Cefn-yr-Ogof (669 ft). This hill has large caves, and quarrying of limestone was formerly the main industry of the village, with crushed stone being exported from the 200 m long jetty.

It is a rural area, with Abergele to the east and Betws yn Rhos to the south.

Craig y Forwyn, Conwy

Craig y Forwyn (meaning "Maiden's Crag" in English) is a crag in Conwy County Borough, Wales, located less than a mile south of Llanddulas, near the village of Rhyd y Foel. It reaches a height of 110 metres, and rock climbers have identified and rated more than 160 routes for ascending it. The cliff consists of carboniferous limestone, underlain by a seam of coal and a stratum of shale bearing impressions of fossil plants. The summit of the hill is over 170 m (558 ft) above sea level.

Coed Coch

Coed Coch, in Dolwen, Denbighshire, Wales, is a large 19th-century mansion in the neoclassical style, designed by the architect Henry Hakewill. The building is Grade II* listed, as is its 18th- and 19th-century parkland. The mansion is of ashlar, originally with two matching, three-bay elevations. At a diagonal, was a "remarkable" Greek Doric portico, with pediment. This was removed in the early 20th century.
