Cwmamman
for the former pit village near Aberdare, see Cwmaman Cwmamman is a community in Carmarthenshire, about 12 miles north of Swansea in southwest Wales. Literally meaning "Amman valley", it takes its name from the River Amman which runs through the area. Cwmamman was the original name of the area but as coal-mining boomed during the late 19th century the western end became known as Glanamman and the eastern end as Garnant.
Mynydd y Betws
Mynydd y Betws is a mountain located on the border between Swansea and Carmarthenshire, south Wales. It is the highest mountain in Swansea, and the highest land between the River Loughor and the Upper Clydach River. A small road between Ammanford and Clydach passes very close to the summit, on which are located the historic ruins of Penlle'r Castell.

Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is an electoral ward of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. The ward of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen along with the Lower Brynamman electoral ward makes up the parish of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen. Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen consists of some or all of the following settlements: Cwmgors, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and Gwaun-Leision in the parliamentary constituency of Neath. Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen consists of a built up area to the west and north, surrounded by farmland.
Penlle'r Castell
Penlle'r Castell is an historic ruin on the summit of Mynydd y Betws in the far north of the City and County of Swansea. The Penlle'r Castell site was probably a late 13th-century stronghold garrisoned by one of the Marcher Lords. Penlle'r castell is located 1213 feet above sea level. The meaning of the name in English is "summit of the place of the castle".
Tair Carn Uchaf
Tair Carn Uchaf (Welsh for "Upper Three Cairns") is a hill in the Brecon Beacons National Park in the county of Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales. Its summit sits atop a plateau-like ridge at 482 metres above sea level and is marked by one of the three huge cairns which give the mountain its name. The main ridge leads southwest towards the subsidiary top of Tair Carn Isaf, which hosts further cairns.
Ammanford transmitting station
The Ammanford transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility located on Mynydd y Betws about 6 km to the south east of the town of Ammanford, in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was originally built by the BBC, entering service in the 1960s acting as a relay transmitter for the now-defunct 405-line VHF television system. The site has a self-standing 30 m lattice tower erected on land that is itself about 330 m above sea level.
Cwmgors transmitting station
The Cwmgors television relay station is sited on high ground at Gwaun Cae Gurwen to the north of the village of Cwmgors in south Wales. It was originally built in 1983 as a fill-in relay for UHF analogue colour television covering the communities of Cwmgors, Gwaun Cae Gurwen and Tairgwaith. It consists of a 25 m self-supporting lattice steel mast standing on a hillside which is itself about 180 m above sea level. The transmissions are beamed broadly south to cover its targets.
