Llandaff
Llandaff is a district in the north of Cardiff, capital of Wales, having been incorporated into the city in 1922. It is the seat of the Church in Wales Bishop of Llandaff, whose diocese covers the most populous area of South Wales. Much of the district is covered by parkland known as Llandaff Fields.
Maindy
Maindy (Welsh: Maendy, meaning Stone House) is a district of the city of Cardiff, Wales. It lies between the districts of Cathays and Penylan. It falls within the Cathays ward. A notable facility in the area is the Maindy Centre consisting of a cycle track and swimming pool. The cycle track was used in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The area is served by the Capital City Green bus route.
Pontcanna
Pontcanna is a western district of the city of Cardiff, Wales. Its area is bounded approximately by Llandaff Fields to the north, the Riverside district and Cowbridge Road to the south, the River Taff to the east and the district of Canton to the west. Pontcanna is part of the Cardiff electoral ward of Riverside. The Riverside electoral ward falls into the parliamentary constituency of Cardiff West.
Ninian Park
Ninian Park was a football stadium in Leckwith, Cardiff, Wales. Until 2009, it was the home ground of Cardiff City F.C. , who compete in the English Football League Championship. Cardiff City now play at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff West (UK Parliament constituency)
Cardiff West is a borough constituency in the city of Cardiff. It returns one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post voting system. It was created in 1950.
Riverside, Cardiff
Riverside (Welsh: Glan yr Afon) is an inner-city southern area of Cardiff, capital of Wales. Riverside is also the name of the electoral ward, which can be split into two very different parts, Riverside and Pontcanna. These two areas have noticeably different demographics and are divided by Cowbridge Road East, with Pontcanna located to the north.
Bute Park
Bute Park is the principal park of the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It is 130 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland that once formed the grounds of Cardiff Castle. The park is named after the 3rd Marquess of Bute, whose family resided in the castle. The Castle Green was landscaped in the late eighteenth century by Capability Brown, but the park itself was laid out from 1873 on by Andrew Pettigrew, Head Gardener to the 3rd Marquess.
SWALEC Stadium
Sophia Gardens, currently known as SWALEC Stadium under a naming rights deal, is a cricket stadium on the west bank of the River Taff in Cardiff, 1.6 kilometres (one mile) north of Cardiff Arms Park. It was named after Lady Sophia Rawdon-Hastings. Daughter of the 1st Marquess of Hastings and wife to the 2nd Marquess of Bute, Lady Sophia was concerned to provide open space for recreation in the rapidly expanding city in the late 19th century, in which her husband was heavily involved.
Ninian Park railway station
Ninian Park railway station serves the Leckwith and South Canton areas of Cardiff, which lies just outside Cardiff city centre. The station, which is situated 1 mile west of Cardiff Central, was opened when the City Line reopened to passenger services in 1987, using platforms previously used only for special trains run in connection with football matches.
Chapter Arts Centre
Chapter Arts Centre (often just referred to as Chapter) is an arts centre in Canton, Cardiff, Wales. It hosts films, plays, performance art and live music, and includes a free art gallery, café and bars. There are also over 60 work spaces, used for an eclectic range of purposes including Chapter's own training courses. Income for the venue largely derives from the film theatre.
Llys Talybont Halls of Residence
Llys Talybont Halls of Residence otherwise known simply as "Talybont" are the largest halls of residence in Cardiff, located in Maindy. It is owned by Cardiff University and operated by the Residences and Catering Division. Talybont is inhabited predominantly by first year undergraduate students. The halls of residence are separated into three different areas: Talybont North, Talybont South and Talybont Court. All of the accommodation is en suite.
Cardiff Canton TMD
Cardiff Canton TMD is a diesel locomotive Traction Maintenance Depot which is situated in Cardiff, Wales. The depot code is CF. In steam days the depot was known as Cardiff Canton and its shed code was 86C. Originally built as the main maintenance base for the South Wales Railway, it became the major Welsh engineering base for the Great Western Railway. A heavy overhaul base for British Railways, it then became a joint EWS/Arriva Trains Wales depot.
Cathedral Road
Cathedral Road (Welsh: Heol y Gadeirlan) is one of the major roads of western Cardiff, Wales. It forms part of the A4119 road from Cardiff Bay to Tonypandy and houses which are not lived in have been converted to professional businesses specialising in dentistry, psychotherapy, medicine and solicitors. It connects the centre of the Welsh capital to the north-west of the city.
Cowbridge Road East
Cowbridge Road East (Welsh: Heol y Bontfaen Dwyrain) is a major road in western-central Cardiff the capital of Wales. It is the principal road which passes through the busy district of Canton and connects Cowbridge Road West in the western districts to central Cardiff. The road is partly on the A4161. It is eventually crossed by Cathedral Road towards the city centre. It is home to numerous shops, pubs and restaurants.
Cardiff West (Assembly constituency)
Cardiff West is a constituency of the National Assembly for Wales. It elects one Assembly Member by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of eight constituencies in the South Wales Central electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to eight constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.
Sport Wales National Centre
The Sport Wales National Centre (Welsh: Canolfan Genedlaethol Chwaraeon Cymru) is a sports facility in Cardiff, Wales, set up to assist the development of elite athletes in Wales. The Centre, owned and operated by Sport Wales, was established by the then Sports Council for Wales in 1971 as the National Sports Centre for Wales. Renamed the Welsh Institute of Sport in 1994, it has been known as the Sport Wales National Centre since April 2010.
Maindy Centre
Maindy Centre, which was formerly known as Maindy Stadium, now also known as Maindy Pool and Cycle Track, includes a cycle track and indoor swimming pool facility in the Maindy area of Cardiff, Wales. The cycle track was used in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and the swimming pool was opened in 1993.

Ysgol Mynydd Bychan (English: Heath School) is a Welsh-language primary school located in Heath, Cardiff, Wales. It was officially opened in 1993. In 2004, the school had 280 pupils.
Sophia Gardens
Sophia Gardens is a public park in Cardiff, Wales, named after Sophia Rawdon-Hastings, the second wife of John Crichton-Stuart, 2nd Marquess of Bute. Sophia Gardens is best known as the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club and is the location of the SWALEC Stadium. Sophia Gardens is located on the bank of the River Taff, close to Cardiff city centre. As well as the Glamorgan CCC ground, it contains the Sport Wales National Centre, an exhibition area and a large car park.
St Mary of the Angels R C Church, Canton
St Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church is located in Canton, Cardiff. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff. It opened on November 3, 1907. The Parish Priest is Monsignor John Maguire and he is assisted by Fr. Andrea Bord.
Llandaff Fields
Llandaff Fields is a large parkland spanning parts of central and northern Cardiff, Wales. The park is owned by Cardiff Council and managed by its Parks department. The parkland is highly visible and accessed from local communities. The parkland is lined with avenues of trees and large grassed areas. The park is also used for sporting events.
Thompson's Park
Thompson's Park is a park in Cardiff, Wales, located in the Canton area. It is one of the city's oldest parks that features areas of woodland mixed with open grassed areas and ornamental planting. The park is named after the influential family of James Pyke Thompson who owned it before it was acquired by Cardiff Council who continue to own and maintain the park.

Cathays railway works
Cathays railways works was a railway engineering development by the Taff Vale Railway to provide its main carriage and wagon works, as well as its main railway depot for the entire TVR system, located in the Cathays suburb of Cardiff, South Wales. Taken over by the Great Western Railway, after nationalisation under British Railways they sold off the carriage and wagon works to the Pullman Company Ltd.
