Cathays railway station
Cathays railway station is a station lying on the Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda lines in the Cathays district of Cardiff, Wales. The station is 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Cardiff Central. The station is located next to Cardiff University Students' Union and a short walk from the Welsh Government and other Civic buildings in Cathays Park. The footbridge over the railway is much used as a shortcut between Park Place and Senghenydd Road.

It includes Edwardian buildings such as the Temple of Peace, City Hall, the National Museum and Gallery of Wales and several buildings belonging to the Cardiff University campus.

City Hall is a civic building in Cathays Park, Cardiff, Wales, serving as Cardiff's centre of local government since it opened in October 1906. Built of Portland stone, it is an important early example of the Edwardian Baroque style.
Bute Park
Bute Park is the principal park of the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It is 130 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland that once formed the grounds of Cardiff Castle. The park is named after the 3rd Marquess of Bute, whose family resided in the castle. The Castle Green was landscaped in the late eighteenth century by Capability Brown, but the park itself was laid out from 1873 on by Andrew Pettigrew, Head Gardener to the 3rd Marquess.
Compass Point Festival
Compass Point Festival is a yearly music festival founded in 2000 by Simon Dancey, former Director of Community Music Wales. It takes place in the grounds of Cardiff Castle in Cardiff, Wales. It was initially staged as a free event responding to the demand from up and coming Welsh artists, mainly from the rock, indie and hip-hop genres. It is divided into two days, and the last day is traditionally the day for rock bands.
Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is a conservatoire located in Cardiff, Wales. The College was established in 1949 as Cardiff College of Music at Cardiff Castle, but has since moved to purpose-built accommodation within the castle grounds of Bute Park near Cardiff University. It later changed its name to the Welsh College of Music & Drama before being awarded its Royal title in The Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002, making it the fifth conservatoire to be awarded this title.

Crown Buildings, Cathays Park
The Crown Buildings (Welsh: Adeilad y Goron) aka Cathays Park Buildings, are the Welsh Government's main offices in Cardiff, Wales. The buildings were formerly used by the Welsh Office and are situated in Cathays Park. The complex consists of two buildings, Cathays Park 1 (Grade 2 listed building) and Cathays Park 2, joined by two skybridges. Cathays Park 1 (aka CP1 or old Crown Building) is an older four-storey building with 3,599 m of floorspace.
Glamorgan Building
The Glamorgan Building is an Edwardian former county hall located in Cardiff, Wales. It is situated in the prestigious civic centre in Cathays Park, on King Edward VII Avenue. Formerly the county hall of Glamorgan, the building was acquired by Cardiff University in 1997 and is now home to the School of Social Sciences and the School of City and Regional Planning. The Glamorgan Building is one of the most architecturally-distinguished buildings in the University's care.
Welsh National War Memorial
The Welsh National War Memorial is situated in Alexandra Gardens, Cathays Park, Cardiff. The memorial was designed by Sir Ninian Comper and unveiled in June 1928 by the Prince of Wales. Redwood Building
The Redwood Building is a building part of Cardiff University, situated in the Cathays Park area of Cardiff, Wales. Opened in 1960, it was named after Theophilus Redwood, a founding father of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. Above the entrance a large relief sculpture shows an elderly toga-clad person, surrounded by books and a globe, reaching out protectively over a youthful scientist and a nurse.
University of Wales, Registry
The University of Wales, Registry is the head office of the University of Wales, which enjoys a distinctive identity as a federal University. It is the degree-awarding authority for its member institutions and exists to support their academic activities. The Registry is based on King Edward VII Avenue in Cathays Park, Cardiff's Civic Centre and became a Grade II listed building on 25 January 1966.

Centre for Occupational and Health Psychology
The Centre for Occupational and Health Psychology (COHP, Welsh: Canolfan Seicoleg Alwedigaethol ac Iechyd) is a Cardiff University research centre founded in 1999 to conduct research into the effects of occupational factors on health and performance efficiency. In addition, the risk factors relating to ill-health are investigated and the effects of health-related behaviour and health status on cognitive performance, mood and physiological functioning examined.
Bute Building
Bute Building is occupied by Cardiff University and is a Grade II listed building in Cathays Park, Cardiff, Wales. It currently houses the Welsh School of Architecture and the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies. The neoclassical building was designed by architects Percy Thomas and Ivor Jones, who won a competition in 1911 to design a building for Cardiff Technical College. The foundations of the building were laid in 1913 and the building opened in 1916.

Cathays railway works
Cathays railways works was a railway engineering development by the Taff Vale Railway to provide its main carriage and wagon works, as well as its main railway depot for the entire TVR system, located in the Cathays suburb of Cardiff, South Wales. Taken over by the Great Western Railway, after nationalisation under British Railways they sold off the carriage and wagon works to the Pullman Company Ltd.
