Rhymney Valley
The Rhymney Valley is a valley encompassing the villages of Abertysswg, Fochriw, Pontlottyn, Tirphil, New Tredegar, Aberbargoed, Rhymney, and Ystrad Mynach, and the towns of Bargoed and Caerphilly, in south-east Wales, formerly famous for its coal mining and iron industries.
Tir-Phil railway station
Tir-Phil railway station is a railway station serving the village of Tir-Phil and the town of New Tredegar, south Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network. Work to extend the platform to take the proposed six car trains has now been completed. From late 2013 the train service will become every 30 minutes from its previous 60 minutes due to the construction of a passing loop at this station and a second platform.

Brithdir railway station is a railway station serving the village of Brithdir near New Tredegar, South Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line 18¾ miles (30 km) north of Cardiff Central which is part of the Valley Lines network. Work to extend the platform for six-car trains is in progress.
New Tredegar
New Tredegar is a former coal mining community http://www. geograph. org. uk/photo/429758 in the Rhymney Valley, Caerphilly county borough, Wales http://www. geograph. org. uk/photo/531283, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire. New Tredegar is home to The Winding House, originally used during the mining period for the East shaft it is now home to a county museum which opened in 2008. It is controlled by CCBC Museums service and the Friends of the Winding House community group.
Brithdir, Caerphilly
Brithdir is a small village in the northern part of the Rhymney Valley near New Tredegar, in the county borough of Caerphilly, south Wales, and within the historic boundaries of Glamorgan. It was formed in the early twentieth century to provide housing for men working at the local coal mines including Elliot's colliery. Centuries before Brithdir was constructed a stone was erected on the mountain top above the village to mark the burial place of Tegernacus, son of Martius.

Cefn y Brithdir
Cefn y Brithdir is the name given to the broad ridge of high ground between the Rhymney Valley and Cwm Darran in the Valleys region of South Wales. It lies within the unitary area of Caerphilly. The northwest-southeast aligned ridge whose top surface is plateau-like, achieves a height of 477m at the summit of Pen Garnbugail (OS grid ref SO 100037).

Tir-Phil is a village near the town of New Tredegar in the Caerphilly county borough of south Wales. The village of Tir-Phil and New Tregegar itself are served by Tir-Phil railway station.
