Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl
The Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl, Bridgend County Borough, Wales, was opened in 1932. It is well known for its octagonal dome and striking frontage. Originally intended as a Palm Court for hosting Tea Dances, Balls and Civic functions, the Pavilion is a very versatile venue. Construction of the Grand Pavilion commenced in the summer of 1931. The use of ferrocrete throughout meant that the construction was relatively quick and was complete by August 1932.

Coney Beach Pleasure Park
Coney Beach Pleasure Park is a small amusement park in Porthcawl, Mid Glamorgan, United Kingdom, in operation since 1920. Throughout its history, the park's period of operation is from Easter weekend of each year up until the final weekend of October. Originally built to entertain American troops returning from World War I the park was named as a tribute to the famous New York amusement park on Coney Island.
Cornelly
Cornelly is a community in Bridgend County Borough, South Wales. In 2001, the population of the Cornelly ward was 5,982. The community includes two villages, North Cornelly and South Cornelly, and it is bisected by the A48 and M4. Sand dunes in the area conceal the walled town of Kenfig, founded in the 1120s and overwhelmed in the late 14th century. Another notable local feature is Sker House, a historic building which overlooks the dunes.
RAF Stormy Down
The former Royal Air Force Stormy Down, commonly known as RAF Stormy Down, was a World War II Royal Air Force airfield near Pyle, Bridgend (county borough) opened in 1940. It was an armament training school for the RAF then after they departed the French took the station over and later American forces were also stationed at 'Stormy'. Flying ceased in August 1944 due to the dangerous grass landing strip.
Royal Porthcawl Golf Club
Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is a golf club located to the north of Porthcawl and bordering the Bristol Channel, in Wales. The club has hosted many prestigious tournaments including The Amateur Championship on six occasions, the Walker Cup in 1995, the Curtis Cup in 1964, the British Masters in 1961, and European Tour event, the Welsh Golf Classic in the early 1980s.
St John the Baptist Church, Porthcawl
St John the Baptist Church, Porthcawl is a medieval church and Grade I listed building in Church Street, Newton, Porthcawl, Wales. St John the Baptist's Church was built probably in the 1180s and is mentioned in 1189. It was founded by the Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem 800 years ago and originally built as a fortress. It was largely rebuilt in the 15th or early 16th centuries, although it retains some of the original building.
