Aberffraw

Aberffraw is a small village and community on the south west coast of the Isle of Anglesey, in Wales, by the west bank of the River Ffraw, at grid reference SH354693. The UK postcode begins LL63. Access by road is by way of the A4080 and the nearest rail station is Bodorgan. In the early Middle Ages Aberffraw was the capital of the Kingdom of Gwynedd from c.860 AD until c.1170. Under the eponymous Aberffraw Dynasty it came to be the most important political centre in medieval Wales.

Tŷ Croes is a small settlement two miles east of Rhosneigr, Anglesey, north Wales. It was, for a short time, the home of 144 Signals Unit, an RAF Strike Command mobile radar reserve. It has a railway station on the North Wales Coast Line which runs between Holyhead and Crewe.

Barclodiad y Gawres

Barclodiad y Gawres (Welsh for 'apronful of the giantess') is a Neolithic burial chamber on the coast of the island of Anglesey in North Wales. It is an example of a cruciform passage grave, a notable feature being its decorated stones. Similar graves and marks exist across the Irish Sea in the Boyne Valley. Full excavations were performed in 1952–1953, after which the chamber was re-roofed with concrete and covered with turf to resemble the original structure.

Tŷ Croes railway station

Tŷ Croes railway station serves Tŷ Croes on the isle of Anglesey, Wales which is served by Arriva Trains Wales and is a request stop. The station, originally to be named Llanfaelog, was opened in November 1848 with a signal box being added in 1872. The box is located next to a level crossing which separates the two platforms. There was a warehouse and a crane nearby and a small goods yard which closed in 1964.

Valley Wetlands

Valley Wetlands (Welsh: Gwlyptiroedd y Fali), formerly Valley Lakes, is a nature reserve in Anglesey, Wales belonging to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. It is an area of lakes and reedbeds to the south-east of Valley in Llanfair-yn-Neubwll community, adjacent to RAF Valley airfield. The western section of the reserve includes Llyn Penrhyn, Llyn Treflesg and part of Llyn Dinam. The eastern part includes Llyn Traffwll and wetlands along the Afon Crigyll.

St Beuno's Church, Aberffraw is a 12th-century parish church in Anglesey, north Wales. A church was established in Aberffraw in the 7th century by St Beuno, who became the abbot of Clynnog Fawr, Gwynedd. St Beuno's may have been used as a royal chapel during the early Middle Ages, as the princes of Gwynedd had a court in Aberffraw.
