Buchan
Buchan is one of the six committee areas and administrative areas of Aberdeenshire Council, Scotland. These areas were created by the council in 1996, when the Aberdeenshire unitary council area was created under the Local Government etc (Scotland) Act 1994. The council area was formed by merging three districts of the Grampian region, Banff and Buchan, Gordon and Kincardine and Deeside. The area is also an historic district and earldom, shown on maps as early as 1708.
Old Deer
Old Deer a parish and village in the district of Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The population as of 1901 was 4,313. The village lies on the Deer or South Ugie Water, 10.1 miles west of Peterhead, and two miles from Mintlaw station on the Great North of Scotland Railway Company's branch line from Aberdeen to Peterhead. Industries include distilling, brewing, and the manufacture of woollens, and there are quarries of granite and limestone. The village is the birthplace of David B.
Deer Abbey
Deer Abbey was a Cistercian monastery in Buchan, Scotland. It was founded by 1219 AD with the patronage William Comyn, jure uxoris Earl of Buchan, who is also buried there. There was an earlier community of Scottish monks or priests. The notitiae on the margins of the Book of Deer record grants made to the Scottish religious community in the 12th century and a claim that it was founded by Saint Columba and Saint Drostan. The old religious community was probably absorbed by the new foundation.
Aden Country Park
Aden Country Park is located in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The park has a caravan area with camping, a small shop, a small cafe near the agricultural museum, a play area, a nature garden and a barbecue area. Aden Park can be accessed from Mintlaw by Station Road or Nether Aden Road. It is home to the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, forest walks and a ruined country house. Every year it hosts a pipe band contest which attracts bag pipe bands from around Scotland.
Fetterangus
Fetterangus is a small village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, located just to the north of Mintlaw. Fetterangus is often called "Fishie" though the origin of this nickname is unknown. Lord Pitfour is credited with establishing the village of Fetterangus in 1752. Though only having a population of between 300 and 400, the village has an active Community Association that manages to run an annual Gala every August with other events throughout the year.

Mintlaw railway station
Mintlaw railway station was a railway station in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire. The 29 mile long railway from Dyce to Mintlaw opened on 18 July 1861, with the extension to Peterhead opening the following year. The line was built by the Formartine and Buchan Railway Company, which became part of the Great North of Scotland Railway. In 1923 the GNSR was incorporated into the London and North Eastern Railway, which was in turn nationalised on 1 January 1948.
