Ballynure
Ballynure is a village and civil parish near Ballyclare in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 677 people in the 2001 Census. The village is effectively split in two by the A8 main road, which runs from Belfast to Larne. A stream called the Ballynure Water runs through it and the houses are a mixture of old fashioned buildings and new estates. Christ Church, Church of Ireland is one of the old buildings of note in Ballynure.
Straid
Straid (from the Irish: an tSráid) is a small village in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, about 5 km east of Ballyclare, and about 9 km inland from Carrickfergus. It lies within the Newtownabbey Borough Council area. It used to be described as falling within the barony of Belfast, the local townland is "Straidlands". Straid has a congregational church, an Orange hall, and a primary school.
A8 road (Northern Ireland)
The A8 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland is a principal route connecting Belfast and the harbour town of Larne. It is one of the busiest routes in the region and extends 26.1 km (16.2 miles) from Glengormley to Larne via Ballynure. Slieve True or Slievetrue is a 312m high hill in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is near Knockagh Hill and Monkstown, about 6 km north of Belfast. Slieve True derives its name from three standing stones (known as "The Three Brothers") about half a mile southwest of the summit. These have since been integrated into a field wall. There is also a cairn in the area.
