University of York
The University of York (informally York University, or simply York, abbreviated as Ebor. for post-nominals), is a research-intensive university located in the city of York, England. Established in 1963, the campus university has expanded to more than thirty departments and centres, covering a wide range of subjects. Despite its relatively young age, the university has quickly forged a strong reputation in less than half a century.
Heslington Church

Siward's Howe
Siward's Howe, also known as Heslington Hill, is a terminal moraine located to the south-east of the city of York. Its imposing water tower is visible from many parts of the nearby suburbs of Tang Hall and Osbaldwick. The hill is named for Siward, the Danish warrior romanticised in Macbeth, who is rumoured to be buried beneath the tumuli at the wooded summit. The southern side of the Howe is part of the campus of the University of York.
Derwent College
Derwent College is a college of the University of York, one of the first two colleges (along with Langwith) to be opened following the university's inception. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 22 October 1965. Derwent College is home to the University's Politics and Philosophy departments. The college itself is on the fringe of the campus, lying next to Heslington Hall, and close to the gazebo and gardens known collectively as The Quiet Place.

Langwith College is a college of the University of York, home to the English and Educational Studies departments and the first college (along with Derwent) to be opened following the university's foundation in 1963. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 22 October 1965.
Heslington Hall
Heslington Hall is a grade II listed rebuilt manor house near the village of Heslington, North Yorkshire, England, within the city of York. The hall is located on the campus of the University of York. The present Victorian building comprises a central nine bay two-storey block with attics and two two-storey wings at each end. It is built of brick in English bond with sandstone ashlar dressings.
Halifax College
Halifax College is the largest and newest college of the University of York. It was founded in 2001 and is named after Edward Frederick Lindley Wood, the 1st Earl of Halifax. There is a diverse and vibrant student community with a wide range of events and activities for anyone and everyone. It has a great community spirit, whilst having excellent links between both main university campuses thanks to the UB1 shuttle bus.
Borthwick Institute for Archives
The Borthwick Institute for Archives is the specialist archive service of the University of York, York, England. It is one of the biggest archive repositories outside London. The Borthwick was founded in 1953 as The Borthwick Institute for Historical Research. It was originally based at St Anthony's Hall, a fifteenth century guild hall on Peaseholme Green, in central York. It is now based in a new, purpose-built building, situated adjacent to the J.B.
York Student Television
York Student Television (abbreviated YSTV) is England’s oldest student television station. Founded in 1967, the station is based at the University of York, with its studio in James College. YSTV once held the world record for longest continuous television broadcast under a single director, and is a member of the National Student Television Association (NaSTA). YSTV creates and produces a wide range of shows, both independently and in collaboration with other university societies.
