Wirral Country Park

The Wirral Country Park is a country park on the Wirral Peninsula, England, lying both in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and the county of Cheshire. It was the first designated country park in Britain, opening in 1973. Caldy Hill

Caldy Hill is an area of heath and woodland on a sandstone outcrop on the Wirral Peninsula. The land was bought by Hoylake District Council between 1897 and 1974. The village of Caldy is nearby. Including Stapledon Woods, the whole area covers 250 acres of which 13 acres are owned by the National Trust. The hill rises to 260 ft (often said to be the highest point on Wirral) where there is a view-finder.

Caldy railway station

Caldy railway station was a station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The station was located to the west of the village of Caldy and situated on top of a high embankment. This was due to a local landowner objecting to the original intended course of the line; which resulted in the station being much closer to the coast of the River Dee than was planned.

Hoylake and West Kirby War Memorial

The Hoylake and West Kirby War Memorial is a 14.5-metre-high, granite four-sided obelisk which stands on Grange Hill, West Kirby, Merseyside. It was designed by British sculptor Charles Sargeant Jagger (1885-1934), who also designed the Royal Artillery Memorial at Hyde Park Corner in London. It commemorates the men and women of West Kirby and Hoylake who gave their lives in World Wars I and II. On two sides of the obelisk stand bronze figures symbolising war and peace.

Thurstaston railway station

Thurstaston railway station was a station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The station served the village of Thurstaston situated to the north east. Hill Bark Farmhouse is to the east of the house of Hill Bark, and south of the hamlet of Frankby, Wirral, England. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building. The farmhouse was built in 1875 for Septimus Ledward and designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. It was part of a model farm for Hill Bark. The house is constructed in stone with some timber framing and has a tiled roof.

Cleaver Heath Nature Reserve

Cleaver Heath Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Heswall, on the Wirral Peninsula, managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. It forms part of the Heswall Dales Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Heswall Dales is regarded as the second best example of lowland heath in Merseyside, hosting localised species including Western Gorse Ulex gallii, Many-stalked Spike Rush Eleocharis multicaulis and Green-ribbed Sedge Carex binervis. Common lizards are also present.
