Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park (often stylized as THORPE PARK) is a theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, England, UK. After demolition of the Thorpe Park Estate in the 1930s, the site became a gravel pit. Thorpe Park was built in 1979 on the gravel pit which was partially flooded, creating a water-based theme for the park. The park's first large roller coaster, Colossus, was added in 2002. In 2007, Tussauds was bought out by Merlin Entertainments, who now operate the park on a lease from Nick Leslau.

River Ash, Surrey
The River Ash is a small river in Surrey, England and its course of some 10 km or 6 miles is just outside Greater London. The course of the river has been much influenced by human action. It flows from the River Colne, just south of Staines Moor, eastwards through the borough of Spelthorne, running through the towns of Staines-upon-Thames, Ashford and Shepperton before joining the River Thames in the creek behind Sunbury Lock at Sunbury.
Chertsey Bridge
Chertsey Bridge is a road bridge across the River Thames in England, connecting Chertsey to low-lying riverside meadows in Laleham, Surrey. It is situated 550 yards downstream from the M3 motorway bridge over the Thames and is close to Chertsey Lock on the reach above Shepperton Lock. The bridge is a seven-arch tied arch white stone bridge built 1783-1785 and is a Grade II* listed building.

Colossus (Thorpe Park)
Colossus is a roller coaster at Thorpe Park in Surrey, England, UK, and the park's first major attraction. It was built by Swiss manufacturers Intamin and designed by Werner Stengel as an adaptation of Monte Makaya in Brazil. Tussauds designer John Wardley adapted the project to include an extra two inversions as well as reducing its height.

Flying Fish (roller coaster)
The Flying Fish is a powered steel roller coaster located at Thorpe Park in Surrey. The ride was known as Space Station Zero when it was new in 1983 and was re-themed in 1990. It was removed in 2005 to make way for Stealth, a new roller coaster built for 2006, only to be reinstalled in 2007 in another area of the park.
Rush (Thorpe Park)
Rush is a giant swing ride at Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey which opened at the park alongside another S&S Power thrill ride, Slammer, in 2005. At this time it was the tallest ride of its type in the world.
Walton Studios
The Walton Studios (originally named Hepworth Studios and for some time later named Nettlefold Studios) was a British film studio situated in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The studios were opened in 1899 by Cecil Hepworth. The studios were once a great contributor to British film-making. The decline of the British film industry led to the studios sale to various owners, eventually being used for Television production, before being closed in 1961 and demolished.
Chertsey Abbey
Chertsey Abbey, dedicated to St Peter, was a Benedictine monastery located at Chertsey in the English county of Surrey. It was founded by Saint Erkenwald, later Bishop of London, in 666 AD and he became the first abbot. Most of north-west Surrey was granted to the abbey by King Frithuwald of Surrey. In the 9th century it was sacked by the Danes and refounded from Abingdon Abbey by King Edgar of England in 964.
Loggers Leap
Loggers Leap (also referred to as Logger's Leap) is a log flume ride in Thorpe Park, UK. It was the tallest log flume ride in the UK when it opened, and although the park does not advertise the fact, it regained that record in 2005 with the removal of "Nightmare Niagara" from the now-defunct American Adventure theme park near Derby.
Vortex (Thorpe Park)
Vortex is a KMG Afterburner at Thorpe Park, an amusement park in Chertsey, Surrey, England. It was installed in the Lost City area of the park in 2001. It opened on 25 May, seven weeks after the opening of the 2001 season. Riders sit in seats arranged in a circle facing inwards, there are eight gondolas with four seats on each. After the over-the-shoulder restraints have been lowered and checked, the platform lowers.
Chertsey Lock
Chertsey Lock is a lock on the River Thames in England, on the northern Middlesex bank near Chertsey (which is on the opposite side of the river) in north-west Surrey. The lock is about 200 yards upstream of the picturesque Chertsey Bridge. It was first built by the City of London Corporation in 1813. The lock adjoins a small thin island connecting to Chertsey Weir, which is not pedestrianised.
M3 Chertsey Bridge
The M3 Chertsey Bridge is a motorway bridge in England built in the 1970s. The bridge carries the M3 motorway across the River Thames on the reach above Chertsey Lock. It is 500 yards upstream of the lock and Chertsey Bridge, a historic bridge over the river. It is one of four bridges carrying motorway traffic across the Thames, the others being the QE2 Bridge, the M25 Runnymede Bridge and the M4 Thames Bridge, Maidenhead.
Penton Hook Lock
Penton Hook Lock is a lock on the River Thames in England situated on the northern "Middlesex" bank near Laleham, Surrey. The lock cuts across a large loop or hook in the river, creating Penton Hook Island There is a large marina in the disused gravel pits connected to this loop. At over 266 ft it is the third longest lock on the river. There are two weirs, which were built some time after the lock.
Dumsey Meadow
Dumsey Meadow is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Surrey, England; the only piece of undeveloped water meadow unfenced by the river remaining on the River Thames below Caversham, and is home to a variety of rare plants and insects. The meadow is on the river above Shepperton Lock and just downstream of Chertsey Bridge.
Penton Hook Island
Penton Hook Island is an island in the River Thames in England adjacent to Penton Hook Lock, near Laleham, Surrey. At this point the natural course of the river makes a large loop or "hook" round the island, although this is now closed off by the weir. The island is easily reached by crossing from the lock. The island was created artificially when Penton Hook Lock was built, although before the lock was built, Thames waters would often flood across the neck of the "hook".
Abbey River
The Abbey River is a backwater of the River Thames in England, near Chertsey, Surrey. It runs from behind Penton Hook Island to below Chertsey Lock. The river, which was also known as Oxley Mill River was probably cut by the monks of Chertsey Abbey in the eleventh century to supply their mill. In 1608 there were two watermills on the river known as the Oaklake Mylles.

Saw – The Ride is a custom Euro-Fighter roller coaster in the Thorpe Park theme park in the United Kingdom. It is themed around the Saw horror film franchise. Advertised as "the world's most terrifying coaster", Saw - The Ride is the first and only horror-film themed roller-coaster in the world.

Rumba Rapids
Rumba Rapids is a rapids ride at Thorpe Park, Chertsey, Surrey. It opened in 1987 under the name of Thunder River, and is the oldest ride currently still in service at Thorpe Park. In 2001 it was refurbished and along with other improvements, its name was changed to Ribena Rumba Rapids because of its sponsor, Ribena. In 2007 Ribena's sponsorship contract ended and the ride was named simply Rumba Rapids. Since the refurbishment in 2001 the ride has become significantly slower.
Penton Hook Marina
Penton Hook Marina is the largest inland marina in Britain. It is situated on the River Thames in Surrey between Staines and Chertsey on the western bank of the river and is close to Thorpe Park. It is on the reach above Chertsey Lock and opposite Penton Hook Island. The marina is set in 80 acres of what were previously disused gravel pits. It has approximately 600 berths. The marina is downstream from Runnymede where King John signed the Magna Carta.
Quantum (ride)
Quantum is a Magic Carpet ride designed by popular manufacturer Fabbri at Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey, United Kingdom. It is ranked in the 'Thrilling and Fun' section and is therefore considered suitable for younger thrill seekers and has a lower height restriction than more intense rides. As a part of the Lost City, the ride's appearance is mystical and vaguely in-keeping with the Mayan theme of nearby rollercoaster, Colossus.
