Bushy Park

Bushy Park is the second largest of London's Royal Parks, at 445 hectares in area, and lies immediately north of Hampton Court Palace and Hampton Court Park. It is surrounded by Teddington, Hampton, Hampton Hill and Hampton Wick, and is a few minutes walk from the north side of Kingston Bridge. The Park is within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in south-west London and most of it is open to the public. Its acid grasslands are mostly just above the 25 foot contour.

Hampton Court Maze

Hampton Court Maze is a hedge maze planted some time between 1689 and 1695 by George London and Henry Wise for William III of Orange at Hampton Court Palace. The maze covers a third of an acre and contains half a mile of paths. It is possible that the current design replaced an earlier maze planted for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. It was originally planted with hornbeam, although it has been repaired using many different types of hedge. The maze is in 60 acres of riverside gardens.

River Ember

The River Ember is a river in the county of Surrey, England. It is a distributary of the River Mole which splits in two at the Island Barn Reservoir to the South of East and West Molesey. The larger portion becomes the River Ember and flows in an easterly and then northerly direction around the reservoir. The River Mole flows in a northerly and then easterly direction around the reservoir.

Moulsey Hurst

Moulsey Hurst is located in what is now West Molesey, Surrey on the south bank of the River Thames above Molesey Lock. It is one of England's oldest sporting venues and was used in the 18th and 19th centuries for cricket, prizefighting and other sports. The site can be reached from Hampton across the river by Hampton Ferry when it is running in the summer.

Hampton Court Bridge

Hampton Court Bridge crosses the River Thames in England in a north to south direction between Hampton, London and East Molesey, Surrey. It is on the reach above Teddington Lock and about hundred yards upstream of the bridge is Molesey Lock. On the north bank is Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Court Park and Bushy Park. Astoria (recording studio)

Astoria is a grand houseboat, adapted as a recording studio by its owner, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. It is moored on the River Thames near Hampton, Middlesex. Gilmour purchased the boat in 1986, because he "spent half of [his his] life in recording studios with no windows, no light, but on the boat there are many windows, with beautiful scenery on the outside". In my case, I just happened to find this beautiful boat that was built as a houseboat and was very cheap, so I bought it.

Thames Ditton Lawn Tennis Club

The Thames Ditton Lawn Tennis Club is a lawn tennis club in Thames Ditton, Surrey, England. It was established in 1882, nine years after the official rules of lawn tennis were laid down. It is the oldest lawn tennis club still on its original site. Long after most clubs have replaced grass with various types of all-weather surface, Thames Ditton retains six outstanding grass courts, which are maintained by the same groundsman who looks after Queen's Club.

Royal Tennis Court, Hampton Court

The Royal Tennis Court, Hampton Court Palace is a real tennis court which was built for Henry VIII of England, who played there from 1528, and is still home to an active real tennis club. During the 17th century various improvements were made to the court. One of the first acts of Charles II after his restoration in 1660 was to order the extensive refitting of the Tudor Tennis Court. This included the laying of a new tile floor, the remodelling of the galleries and repairs to the roof.

Hurst Park Racecourse

Hurst Park Racecourse was a racecourse at Moulsey Hurst, West Molesey, Surrey. It was first laid out in 1890 and sold for residential housing in 1962. The Triumph Hurdle was run here from 1939 until the course closed. Island Barn Reservoir

The Island Barn Reservoir lies south of the River Thames in England at West Molesey. The reservoir is 122 acres large with a capacity of 992 million gallons and is managed by Thames Water. It is within the borough of Elmbridge and is surrounded by the River Mole to the west and the River Ember to the east. Queen Elizabeth II Reservoir is a larger reservoir to the West. Island Barn Reservoir was authorized by the Lambeth Water Act of 1900.

Ash Island is a forested, drop-shaped island in the River Thames in England, across the weir of Molesey Lock within Greater London on its border. In the same way as Hampton Court, Ash Island's post town is East Molesey (KT8) and the island is administratively within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The main weir is at the downstream end of the island connecting to the lock; the second weir is at the upstream end and connects to the Hampton Court bank.

Garrick's Ait (or Garrick's Eyot on Ordnance Survey maps), previously known as Shank's Eyot, is an ait in the River Thames in England on the reach above Molesey Lock, close to Moulsey Hurst on the Surrey bank and opposite Hampton. It is 330m upstream from Tagg's Island. On the island are 20 houses and it is inaccessible except by boat. Garrick's Ait is named after David Garrick, the actor whose Temple to Shakespeare and Villa (house) are on the Hampton bank.

Diana Fountain, Bushy Park

The Diana Fountain in Bushy Park, on the outskirts of London, England, is a seventeenth-century statue ensemble and water feature in an eighteenth-century setting with a surrounding pool and mile long tree lined vistas. Originally created for Somerset House in the 1630s, and remodelled about 1690, the fountain has stood since 1713 in Bushy Park, and now forms a large traffic island in Chestnut Avenue.

Metropolitan Police Sports Club Ground, East Molesey

Metropolitan Police Sports Club Ground is a cricket ground in East Molesey, Surrey. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1940, when the Metropolitan Police played a British Empire XI. In 2003, Surrey used the ground for 2 Twenty20 matches in the 2003 Twenty20 Cup, played against Essex and Sussex.
