M49 motorway
The M49 motorway is a 5 miles motorway west of Bristol, England, that forms a link between the M5 motorway (junction 18) and the Second Severn Crossing on the M4 motorway (junction 22). It was constructed in 1996, at the same time as the bridge and is unique as it is only accessible from other motorways. The original plans provided for an intermediate junction with the A403 to serve an expanded industrial area, but neither came to fruition.
A403 road
The A403 is a road in the United Kingdom that starts at junction 1 of the M48 at Aust and leads to Avonmouth in Bristol. It is important as a major route for the industries there, allowing easy travel access to Wales and South and East England. The A403 was opened in about 1970 after the Severn Bridge was opened in 1966, to provide a direct route between the then M4 motorway and Avonmouth. It was initially known as the Avonmouth Aust Coast Road.
Redwick, South Gloucestershire

It is approximately enclosed by the River Severn to the north, The Chessell Pill Rhine to the east, the south meets the village of Pilning at the end of Redwick Road (by the Cross hands Public House) and the western edge finishes inline with mainlne of the railway prior to its entry to the Severn Tunnel.
New Passage
New Passage is a small hamlet in South Gloucestershire, England located on the banks of the Severn estuary near the village of Pilning. It derives its name from the ferry service which operated between there and South Wales before the late 19th century, when it lost out in competition with the Aust Ferry slightly upstream.
Compton Greenfield
Compton Greenfield is a small hamlet of farms and spread out houses to the south east of Easter Compton, in South Gloucestershire. Its main feature is the parish church of All Saints which has a Norman arch in its porch. The name derives not from its rural location but from being at one time part of the Grenvile estate. It is also the final resting place of Sir George White founder of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, who is buried in the churchyard.
Seabank Power Station
Seabank Power Station is a 1,145 MW gas-fired power station at Hallen Marsh in Bristol, England. It is situated beside the A403 road and Severn Estuary, just north of Avonmouth and south of Severn Beach, close to the boundary with South Gloucestershire. It is next to the former Terra Nitrogen Severnside fertiliser works, which was closed by Growhow UK in January 2008. The £435m plant is run as Seabank Power Ltd.
Northwick, South Gloucestershire
Northwick is a hamlet in South Gloucestershire, England, first mentioned in 955. The hamlet lies on the River Severn, between Pilning and Aust. It was formerly part of the tything of Northwick with Redwick in the ancient parish of Henbury. It is now in the parish of Pilning and Severn Beach. The church of St Thomas was declared redundant in 1971.
Oakiron railway station
Oakiron railway station is the terminus of the 15 in (381 mm) gauge Perrygrove Railway. The line was opened in 1996 and is now open as a heritage railway, passenger trains run round the train via the loop to couple on with the train back down to Perrygrove Station. The station consists of a small waiting shelter, a low platform, a loop and sidings. There are two footpaths from the station into the woods around the line.
