Fratton Park
Fratton Park is a football stadium in the English city-port of Portsmouth. It has been the home of professional club Portsmouth F.C. since its construction in 1898.
Fort Cumberland (England)
Fort Cumberland is a pentagonal artillery fortification erected to guard the entrance to Langstone Harbour, east of the naval port of Portsmouth on the south coast of England. It was sited to protect the Royal Navy Dockyard, by preventing enemy forces from landing in Langstone Harbour and attacking from the landward side. Fort Cumberland is widely recognised as the finest example of a bastion trace fort in England.

Portsmouth South is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 1997 by Mike Hancock of the Liberal Democrats.
Langstone Harbour
Langstone Harbour is an inlet of the English Channel in Hampshire, sandwiched between Portsea Island to the south and west, Hayling Island to the south and east, and Langstone to the north. Geographically it is a ria. Together with Chichester Harbour, which is at the other (eastern) side of Hayling Island it is designated as a Special Protection Area for wildlife.
Hilsea railway station
Hilsea railway station is a railway station in Portsmouth, England with a limited service. It serves the northern end of Portsea Island, including a large industrial estate nearby. It is located on the Portsmouth Direct Line which runs between London and Portsmouth. There were extensive sidings at Hilsea during the second world war. This railway station is mainly used by commuters who work in nearby Anchorage Park industrial estate. Only stopping trains stop here.
Moneyfields F.C
Moneyfields F.C. is a football club based in Portsmouth, England. The club is affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association, and is a FA Charter Standard club. Formerly known as Portsmouth Civil Service F.C. , they changed their name to Moneyfields F.C. in 1994. They have reached the third round of the FA Vase four times in their history. In 1997, they were the champions of the Hampshire League. They are currently members of the Wessex League Premier Division.
Copnor
Copnor is an area of Portsmouth, England, located on the eastern side of Portsea Island. As Copenore, it was one of the three villages listed as being on Portsea Island in the Domesday book. In the late 19th, early 20th century the rapid expansion of Portsmouth saw the original village engulfed. The west of the district is now a predominantly residential area of 1930s housing. The east of the district is an industrial and commercial area.
Baffins
Baffins is an administrative district of Portsmouth, England, located on the eastern side of Portsea Island. The district is mainly composed of 1930's housing. Before the area became developed for housing, it had been occupied by a farm of the same name. This farm had a history stretching back to the 12th century. The only surviving remnant of the rural past is Baffins Pond and the surrounding open area located in the centre of the district.
Eastney
Eastney is a district located in the south east corner of Portsmouth, England on Portsea Island. Eastney started out as a small hamlet. In 1867 a barracks for the Royal Marines was built in the hamlet. The small hamlet and surrounding farmland were developed and absorbed into Portsmouth in the period 1890-1905, with a network of streets built to house Marines and their families which spread west from the barracks site.
Milton, Portsmouth
Milton is a primarily residential area of the city of Portsmouth, a unitary authority formerly in the English county of Hampshire. The area is located on the south eastern side of Portsea Island and is bordered on the east by Langstone Harbour. Eastney lies to the south. Milton was originally a small village on Portsea Island, surrounded by farmland until it was swallowed up by the city in the early years of the 20th century.
Kingston, Hampshire
Kingston is a residential area of the city of Portsmouth in the English county of Hampshire, located between Buckland, Fratton and North End. Kingston Road contains many shops, cafes and churches. Kingston was bombed in World War II when new housing was just built. It was not until the early 1960s when it was revitalized. It is the location of the former Kingston Prison.
Staunton Way
The Staunton Way is a 20.5 mile recreational footpath in Hampshire, southern England, that connects Langstone Harbour to Queen Elizabeth Country Park via Staunton Country Park. The route passes through the villages of Chalton, Finchdean and Rowlands Castle. The section from Queen Elizabeth Country Park to Staunton Country Park is waymarked with the picture of a roe deer and a green arrow. At Queen Elizabeth Country Park the walk connects to the South Downs Way and Hangers Way.
Royal Marines Museum
The Royal Marines Museum is located in Eastney, England, and is open to the public every day of the week throughout the year apart from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. A registered charity, it is also a designated service museum under the terms of the National Heritage Act 1983 and receives Grant-in-Aid from the Ministry of Defence (MoD). During 2011 it formally became part of the National Museum of the Royal Navy, an executive non-departmental public body of the MoD.
The Wedgewood Rooms
The Wedgewood Rooms is a venue, in Southsea, Hampshire, UK, that hosts music and comedy events. It has a capacity of 450-500 people, and is located on Albert Road in Southsea. Recently it has hosted events from up-and-coming British pop and rock artists, such as You Me At Six, Kasabian, Mercury Prize winners Klaxons and Travis.
City of Portsmouth Girls' School

South Parade Pier
The South Parade Pier is a pier in Portsmouth, England. It is one of two piers in the city, the other being Clarence Pier. The pier has a long hall down its centre which houses a seating area and a small restaurant. The outside of the hall is a promenade which runs the length of the pier and connects the entrance building with the small funfair at the southern end.
East Southsea railway station
East Southsea was the terminus of the 1.25 mile Southsea Railway, which linked the resort with the main line from London at Fratton. The only discrete station until 1904, it was initially a success, but was unable to compete with the burgeoning tramway network.
Jessie Road Bridge Halt railway station
Jessie Road Bridge Halt was an intermediate station situated on the Southsea Railway between Fratton and Albert Road Bridge Halt (sometimes called Highland Road). Opened in 1904 and closed a decade later it was part of a concerted effort to boost revenue and thus see off competition from the burgeoning tramway network. The station's only platform was on the down line, the up line being out of use.

HM Prison Kingston
HM Prison Kingston is a former Category B/C men's prison, located in the Kingston area of Portsmouth in Hampshire, England. Prior to closure, the prison was operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service.
Grand Duchy of the Lagoan Isles
The Grand Duchy of the Lagoan Isles is a micronation based in Britain. It was created in 2005 by school teacher Louis Robert Harold Stephens ("Grand Duke Louis", born 1985) as a class project, and claims as its territory Baffins Pond, in Portsmouth, along with the three tiny islands located within the pond. However, the Grand Duchy does not have a physical presence in, or exercise any authority over the area, and its operations are largely limited to the Internet.
Buckland, Portsmouth
Buckland is a residential area of the city of Portsmouth in the English county of Hampshire. Buckland, then known as Bocheland, was one of the three settlements on Portsea Island mentioned in the Domesday Book. The Manor of Bocheland was purchased by Jean de Gisors. De Gisors, a Norman lord who then founded Portsmouth on land at the southern end of the manor, in 1180. The area was extensively bombed during the Second World War.
Eastney Beam Engine House
Eastney Beam Engine House is a Grade II -listed Victorian engine house in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Dating from 1887, it contains two 150hp James Watt & Co. beam engines. The pumps were built as part of a plan to improve Portsmouth's sewage system. The other element of the plan was large holding tanks which held the sewage until the pumps could empty them into the ebb tide. The pumps have since been superseded by advancing technology but have been restored (in 1980).
Lumps Fort
Lumps Fort is a disused fortification built on Portsea Island as part of the defences for the naval base at Portsmouth. Lumps Fort dates from the 18th century. The earliest reference is in the records of the Board of Ordnance in 1805 which mention "Lumps Fort-three 32-pounder guns". By 1822 the fort was the site of a semaphore station on the semaphore line from London to Portsmouth.
St Mary's Church, Portsea
St Mary's Church, Portsea is on the oldest church site on Portsea Island with a history stretching back to the 11th century. Aarchaeological research indicates that there may have been a church there in AD 850. Throughout its history the church has played an important role in the life of the island and especially the local communities of Fratton, Landport and Buckland. The current church was built in the 1880s and is a major landmark in the city.
