St Hugh's School, Faringdon, Oxfordshire
St Hugh's School is a preparatory school near Faringdon in Oxfordshire. The school is co-educational, day and boarding, offering both weekly and flexi-boarding, and has 300 pupils aged 3 to 13 years. St Hugh's was founded in Kent in 1906. It moved in 1945 to Carswell Manor, a fine Jacobean country house with extensive grounds and playing fields and excellent, modern educational facilities.
Shifford Lock
Shifford Lock is a lock on the River Thames in England. It is in the centre of a triangle formed by the small villages of Shifford, Duxford and Chimney in Oxfordshire. It is at the start of a navigation cut built with the lock by the Thames Conservancy in 1898. It replaced a flash lock in a weir about 3/4 mile downstream. There is a small weir beside the lock and a larger weir on the old course of the river upstream at the top of the lock cut.
Rushey Lock
Rushey Lock is a lock on the River Thames in England. It is on the northern bank of the river in Oxfordshire, at a considerable distance from any village, the nearest being Buckland Marsh, a hamlet on the road to Buckland to the south of the river. The lock was built in stone in 1790 by the Thames Navigation Commission. The weir is adjacent to the lock on the other side of the lock island.
Tadpole Bridge
Tadpole Bridge is a road bridge across the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England, carrying a road between Bampton to the north and Buckland to the south. It crosses the Thames on the reach above Shifford Lock. The bridge dates from the late 18th century, the earliest reference to it being in 1784. It is built of stone, and consists of one large arch. There is a public house near Tadpole Bridge called The Trout. Thacker noted that at one time the legend over the door read "The Trout, kept by A.
Tenfoot Bridge
Tenfoot Bridge is a wooden footbridge across the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England. It is situated on the reach above Shifford Lock and was built in 1869. It connects Buckland on the south bank to Chimney on the north. The name derives from a pre-existing weir which had a 10-foot-wide flash lock in it. In 1867 there were complaints about the state of the weir bridge and after a dispute, the Thames Conservancy removed the weir and built the bridge two years later.
RAF Shellingford
RAF Shellingford was a Royal Air Force station located approximately 4 miles east of the town of Faringdon in Oxfordshire. It occupied land adjacent to the A417 road, between the villages of Shellingford and Stanford-in-the-Vale. Much of the former aerodrome has now been given over to quarrying activities, where significant sand and gravel deposits continue to be extracted to this day. Some of the original technical buildings still exist, and can be seen from the road.
Buckland House
Buckland House is a large Georgian stately home and the manor house of Buckland in the Oxfordshire, England. It is a masterpiece of Palladian architecture erected by John Wood, the Younger for Sir Robert Throckmorton in 1757. Buckland House stands with extensive grounds known as Buckland Park, which includes gardens, a cricket ground and a 150 acres deer park. The previous manor house, Buckland Manor House, also stands in the park.

Carswell Manor is a Jacobean country house at Carswell in the civil parish of Buckland in the English county of Oxfordshire. It is located just north of the A420 road between Swindon and Oxford.
