Clifton Village, Nottinghamshire

Clifton Village is a small community of approximately two hundred homes to the south of Nottingham, England. Visitors enter the village on a forked one-way system through the village green, linking houses to the A453 trunk road which runs to the M1 motorway in one direction and central Nottingham in the other. The green houses a dovecote, the Old Schoolhouse and the Village Hall, which was formerly a small school.

Ruddington railway station

Ruddington is a disused railway station on the Great Central Main Line south of Nottingham. The line had branches that ran to the now decommissioned Ruddington Depot. It was originally a standard GCR country island type station, like those surviving at Quorn and Woodhouse and Rothley, accessed from a road overbridge. The station buildings have been demolished though the island platform still survives.

Clifton Hall, Nottingham

Clifton Hall is a country house in the village of Clifton, Nottinghamshire. As well as being a Grade I listed building, the hall is part of the Clifton Village Conservation Area. While the history of the place stretches back to the 11th century, the hall was remodelled in the late 18th century in a Georgian style. It was owned by the Clifton family, Lords of the Manor of Clifton, from the late 13th century to the mid-20th century.

Wilwell Farm Nature Reserve

Wilwell Farm Nature Reserve is a nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Nottinghamshire. The site was originally standard farmland, but in the 1890s a cutting was constructed to take the Great Central Railway's London Extension. The site was located between Ruddington railway station (in the up direction, i.e. south) and Arkwright Street railway station (in the down direction, i.e. north).

The route consists of approximately 10 miles of the former Great Central Main Line between Loughborough South Junction with the Midland Main Line and Fifty Steps Bridge, and a branch line from Fifty Steps Bridge to the Nottingham Heritage Centre built on a former Ministry of Defence site.
