Shelford is a village in the Rushcliffe borough of Nottinghamshire. It is near Radcliffe on Trent. It has an old manor house (built on the site of Shelford Priory, a church and a camping site. It also has a pub, which is now a restaurant. Shelford attracts Type 3 residents, most of whom work outside the village. Several small farms operate in the village, engaging in arable and livestock farming, with much of the harvesting being contracted out to outside companies.

The station has two platforms, a five-space car park, a payphone and shelters on both platforms The Nottingham (westbound) platform was shortened significantly when locomotive-hauled trains stopped in the 1960s, during the Beeching era.
