Haverah Park experiment

The Haverah Park experiment was a cosmic ray air shower detection array consisting of water Cherenkov detectors distributed over an area of 12 kmon Haverah Park on the Pennine moorland near Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The experiment was operated by University of Leeds for 20 years, and was switched off in 1987. Air showers of secondary particles generated from a primary cosmic ray hitting the Earth's atmosphere are spread over many kilometers when they hit the ground.

Creskeld Hall is a grade II listed Country House located in Arthington, near Bramhope, West Yorkshire, England. It belonged to the Rhodes family in 1846 and has been privately owned by the same family since the early 1900s. It is known to many people as Home Farm from the ITV soap Emmerdale, a part it has been playing for over 40 years. A flat-roofed billiard room extension was added by the owner in 1919.

Almscliffe Crag

Almscliffe Crag is a Millstone Grit outcrop at the top of a small hill near the village of North Rigton, between Leeds and Harrogate in West Yorkshire, England. The crag was formed due to the softer adjacent strata of shale and mudstone eroding at a faster rate than the hard wearing millstone. The crag is one of the best climbing locations in the area. Some classic climbs include Parsons' Chimney (HS 4b), Black Wall Eliminate (E2 5c), and Wall of Horrors (E3 5c).
