The University of Sheffield is a research university based in the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. It is one of the original 'red brick' universities and is a member of the Russell Group of research intensive universities.
Hillsborough (ward)
Hillsborough is an electoral ward which includes the districts of Malin Bridge, Owlerton, Wadsley and Wisewood. It is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the northwestern part of the city and covers an area of 4.6 km. The population of this ward in 2001 was 18,500 people in 7,700 households.
Sheffield Hillsborough (UK Parliament constituency)
Sheffield Hillsborough was a Parliamentary constituency in the City of Sheffield. It was considered a safe Labour seat and was represented by Helen Jackson from 1992 to 2005. She did not stand again in the 2005 general election and was succeeded by Angela Smith. The Sheffield Hillsborough constituency was abolished at the 2010 General Election. It was divided up and incorporated into the Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough, Sheffield Hallam and Penistone and Stocksbridge constituencies.
Sheffield Ski Village
Sheffield Ski Village was an artificial ski slope complex in the Parkwood Springs area of Sheffield, England until destroyed by fire in 2012. It was believed to be the largest artificial ski resort in Europe with a sports shop, bar, restaurant and a range of slopes which include a snowflex nursery slope, a dendix recreational slope and a freestyle park consisting of a half pipe, hip jump, kicker, a quarter pipe and various grind rails.
The School Room
The School Room is a famous rock climbing training facility in the Heeley Bank School community centre, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The facility was originally built in 1993 by Gavin Ellis, Ben Tye and Andy Coish as conditions at Peak Limestone venues (at which they trained) were not always ideal. The facility was made famous by its reputation for its extremely difficult problems. Also, many notable international rock climbers were trained at The School Room.
Neepsend engine shed
Neepsend engine shed was an engine shed in Neepsend, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was built by the Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway to provide and service locomotives for passenger trains originating or changing at Sheffield Victoria and goods trains from various outlets within the area. The shed was built around 400 yards on the Sheffield side of Neepsend railway station. The shed was situated on the north side of the line between Bardwell Road and Rutland Road.
Owlerton Stadium
Owlerton Stadium, sometimes referred to as Sheffield Sports Stadium, is a greyhound racing track in Owlerton near Hillsborough in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The stadium is also home to the Sheffield Tigers Speedway team and hosts BriSCA Formula One stock car racing events. Sheffield Royal Infirmary
The Royal Infirmary was a hospital in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The establishment opened in 1792 under the name Sheffield General Infirmary, renamed Royal Infirmary in 1897 and closed in 1980. Built by J.D. Webster & Sons, many of the establishment's features made it unique. An innovative octagonal outpatients department was built in 1884, and was lit by a cupola. It had a roof of wrought iron lattice girders and a tiled waiting room with the consulting rooms leading off it.
Hillsborough Barracks
Hillsborough Barracks is a walled complex of buildings between Langsett Road and Penistone Road in the Hillsborough District of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The complex covers an area of circa 22 acres and dates from 1848, replacing an inadequate barracks at Hillfoot at an estimated cost of £94,000.
Alfred Denny Building
The Alfred Denny Building is a 7-storey red brick building in Sheffield, England named after the first Professor of Zoology at the department. It is a part of the University of Sheffield, linked to Firth Court via the Addison Building, the original site of the Firth College, one of the forerunners of the university, and still its current administrative headquarters, housing the Vice-Chancellor's office.
Crookesmoor Road
Crookesmoor Road is a main road in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England connecting the districts of Crookes, Crookesmoor and Broomhill. It is one of the longest roads in Sheffield, and home of a large student population. The University of Sheffield School of Architecture is also based here. Crookesmoor Road is composed mainly of Victorian terraces, complete with cellars and small yards; the majority of houses are landlord-owned and rented to students at the University of Sheffield.
St Vincent's Quarter
St Vincent's Quarter is one of Sheffield's eleven designated quarters and based around and named after St Vincent's Church. Primarily an office and industrial location, its regeneration has increased rapidly over the past few years, with the new Metier residential block and Velocity Village office and residential accommodation springing up on the north side of Tenter Street.
Jessop Hospital
The Jessop Hospital for Women was opened in 1878 with funds from Thomas Jessop, a wealthy steelworks-owner. The architect was John Dodsley Webster. It was built to replace the old Sheffield Hospital for Women at Figtree Lane, which had only nine beds. The building cost £26,000 - a lot of money at the time - all paid for by Jessop. Initially it had fifty-seven beds, and was built in the classic Gothic Revival style. An Edwardian wing was built later, the hospital now accommodating 151 beds.

It is one of the three “Crookesmoor Parks” the other two being Weston Park and The Ponderosa.
Ponderosa (Sheffield)
The Ponderosa is a recreation area within the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Although not a public park it was designated as Open Space by Sheffield City Council in the 1993 Unitary Development Plan. It covers an area of over 10 hectares (25 acres) and is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:53.3868|N|1.4865|W|scale:1000_type:landmark_region:GB|||| | |name= }}, 1.5 km west of the city centre between the districts of Upperthorpe and Netherthorpe.

The Royal Hospital was a hospital in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The establishment opened in 1832 as a dispensary, made into a hospital in 1857 and closed and demolished in 1978.
Yellow Arch Studios
Yellow Arch Studios is a recording studio in Neepsend, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The studio was converted from abandoned Victorian factory workshops, and has been described as "... a hub of the Sheffield music scene". Artists who have used the studios for either practice or rehearsal include Arctic Monkeys, Tony Christie, Goldfrapp, Funeral For a Friend and the studios' "resident guitarist" Richard Hawley.

The Globe Works are a former cutlery factory situated in the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England on Penistone Road in the suburb of Neepsend. The Works are a Grade II* Listed Building which in the late 1980s were renovated to provide modern office space. It is part of the Kelham Island Conservation Area.
Cementation furnace, Sheffield
The Cementation furnace in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England is a Grade II Listed Building and is the only example of this type of steel making furnace to survive intact in Great Britain. It is situated on Doncaster Street in the St Vincent's Quarter just one kilometre north west of the city centre.
Cornish Place
Cornish Place is a Listed building situated in the Neepsend area of the City of Sheffield. The building was formerly the factory of James Dixon & Sons, a Britannia metal, Sheffield plate and Cutlery manufacturer. In the late 1990s the disused building was cleaned and converted into apartments, it is regarded as the most impressive cutlery works that still stands in Sheffield and rivals the cotton mills of Lancashire and the West Riding in terms of architectural quality and heritage.
Green Lane Works
The Green Lane Works are a disused industrial facility situated in the City of Sheffield, England. The entrance gate to the works is particularly ornate and has been designated as a Grade II* listed building. Nikolaus Pevsner called the gate “the most spectacular survival of factory architecture in the city”. The works are situated in the suburb of Neepsend within the Kelham Island Quarter of the city and date from 1795 although they were extensive alterations in 1860.
Brooklyn Works
The Brooklyn Works is a former site of steel, saw and file manufacture, it is situated on Green Lane in the Kelham Island Quarter of the City of Sheffield, England. In recent years the works have been converted into residential apartments and offices. The structure is a Grade II listed building because of its importance as an example of Sheffield’s industrial heritage.

35 Well Meadow Street is the site of a house, attached workshops, courtyard complex and a crucible furnace. It is located in the St Vincent's Quarter of the City of Sheffield in England, it is also part of the Well Meadow Conservation Area.
Wardsend Cemetery
Wardsend Cemetery is an abandoned Victorian cemetery in the Owlerton district of Sheffield, England, consecrated by the Archbishop of York in 1859 and closed to legal burial in 1968. The ground on which the cemetery stands was originally purchased by John Livesey in 1857, the Reverend of the nearby St. Philip's Church as an overspill burial grounds. The first burial at Wardsend was of a 2 year old girl named Ann Marie Marsden in 1857.
