Guthlaxton
Guthlaxton was a hundred of Leicestershire. It was in the south of the county, and covered Lutterworth and Wigston Magna. At the time of the Domesday Book, it was one of Leicestershire's four wapentakes, and covered a much larger area, including Market Bosworth and Hinckley, which would later be made part of the Sparkenhoe hundred. The original meeting place of the hundred was at the Guthlaxton stone. The Sparkenhoe hundred was split from Guthlaxton in 1346.

Dunton Bassett
Dunton Bassett is a small village in the Harborough District of Leicestershire. It lies between Leicester and Lutterworth, and close to Broughton Astley, Ashby Magna & Leire. It had a population of 795 at the 2001 UK census. The village has two pubs (the Dunton Bassett Arms and the Merri Monk) and a village shop and post office. The village hall was donated to the village by Orson Wright, a successful builder who had been born in the village.

Gilmorton, a village in South Leicestershire, England with a population of over 900, is near to Ashby Magna & Lutterworth. The town's Anglo-Saxon origin is shown by its appearance in the Domesday book compiled in 1086. with a population of about 140. The name may come from Anglo-Saxon origins: gilden (or gylden) meaning golden, and morton, a town on the moor. Contributions to the history of Gilmorton were published privately by Martin Bloxsom B.A. , M. Inst.C.
Ashby Magna railway station
Ashby Magna was a station on the Great Central Railway, the last main line to be constructed from the north of England to London, which opened in 1899 to serve the Leicestershire village of Ashby Magna. Architecturally, the station was very similar to Whetstone in that it comprised a single island platform designed by Alexander Ross which allowed the tracks to pass either side of a central platform, and was intended to facilitate future expansion of the railway.
