Stratford Street Mosque (officially the Omar Mosque or Masjid-e-Umar) is a mosque in Beeston, Leeds, England. Three people responsible for the 7 July 2005 London bombings were regulars at Friday prayers at the mosque. The mosque is close to the home of Tanweer, who caused the Aldgate explosion. Middleton Railway

The Middleton Railway is the world's oldest continuously working public railway. It was founded in 1758 and is now a heritage railway run by volunteers from The Middleton Railway Trust Ltd. since 1960. The railway operates passenger services at weekends and on public holidays over approximately 1 mile of track between its headquarters at Moor Road, Hunslet, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England and Park Halt on the outskirts of Middleton Park.

Joseph Priestley College

Joseph Priestley College was a further education college founded in 1955 serving the communities of South Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was named after Joseph Priestley, the famous scientist and co-discoverer of oxygen who was born nearby. The college had three campuses, in Rothwell, Morley and Beeston. The New Penny

The New Penny is a Gay pub in The Calls area of Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is reported to be the oldest (Longest continually running) gay pub in the UK. The Pub first started as the Hope And Anchor in 1953. Although difficulty with the law meant it was a secretive place it was the first gay venue to open outside of London. It is thought that it is the longest continually running gay venue in the UK. After a change of ownership the pub changed its name in 1982 and became The New Penny.

2nd White Cloth Hall

The 2nd White Cloth hall was a marketplace for the sale of undyed cloth in Holbeck, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was built south of the river, between Meadow Lane and Hunslet Lane in 1756 to replace the 1st White Cloth Hall of 1711. The 2nd cloth hall was much larger than its predecessor but it only served 20 years until the construction of the enormous 3rd White Cloth Hall. The building was demolished in 1786, only 30 years after its construction.

Leeds Bridge

Leeds Bridge is a historic river crossing in Leeds, England. The present cast iron road bridge dates from 1730. It is Grade II listed. The medieval town of Leeds centred on 13th century burgess building plots either side of a wide road from the river crossing called Bridge Gate, now Briggate. A wool cloth market operated at Leeds Bridge, becoming the centre of wool trade for the West Riding of Yorkshire in the late 17th century.

John Charles Centre for Sport

The John Charles Centre for Sport is a sports facility in South Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Hunslet Rural District

Hunslet was a rural district of the administrative county of Yorkshire, West Riding from 1894 to 1937. The rural district was created by the Local Government Act 1894 as successor to the Hunslet Rural Sanitary District. It lay to the south of the county borough of Leeds, and initially consisted of four civil parishes: Middleton Oulton with Woodlesford Templenewsham Thorpe Stapleton The council offices were in Hunslet within the county borough.

U-8047 Submarine Museum

The U-8047 Submarine Museum is a floating museum currently moored at Clarence Dock, Leeds, England, having travelled along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The 45-foot narrowboat has been converted, both inside and out, into a reduced-scale replica of a German submarine or U-boat, and offers historical education to children. The museum was previously called the U-8047 Replica Submarine but changed its name in 2012.
