River Wenning

The River Wenning is a tributary of the River Lune, flowing through North Yorkshire and Lancashire. The Wenning rises at Clapham in Yorkshire and flows westwards through High Bentham, Low Bentham and Wennington. It joins the River Lune approx. 1.5 kilometres east of Hornby. This river's valley, together with Airedale and Wharfedale make up the district of Craven.

Hornby Priory

Hornby Priory was an English Premonstratensian monastic house in Hornby, Lancashire. Dedicated to St Wilfrid, the priory was a dependent cell of Croxton Abbey in Leicestershire. It was probably founded by Roger de Montbegon of Hornby, otherwise his father Adam or grandfather Roger. In 1544 Thomas Stanley, 2nd Baron Monteagle and Henry Croft bought the site of Hornby Priory.

Loyn Bridge

Loyn Bridge (or Loyne Bridge) crosses the River Lune, carrying a minor road between the villages of Hornby and Gressingham in Lancashire, England. The present bridge replaces an older bridge, which is thought to have been constructed with timber decking between stone piers. There is evidence that the river was forded here before a bridge was built.
