Cannix

Cannix otherwise Canwykes or Broxbournes, is an area near Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, England. It was named from its early tenants, and was held of the manor of Stevenage by military service. It seems to have been identical with the messuage and virgate held of the Abbot of Westminster in 1315 by John de Broxbourne. Nothing more is heard of the estate until about 1509, when William Canwyke paid a relief of 40s.

Lynch Brook

Lynch Brook also known as the River Lynch is a tributary of the River Lea in Hertfordshire, England. Beginning at Lynch Mill Pond, by Conduit Lane (East), Hoddesdon, the stream is joined by Woollens Brook and passes under the Lea Valley Lines. The stream then winds in an easterly direction towards the former Lee Valley Caravan Park at Dobbs Weir before turning south, emptying into the Lea near to Dobbs Weir Lock.

Rawdon House

Rawdon House is a building in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, England. It was built in 1622 by Marmaduke Rawdon, and extended in 1879. The Jacobean and Victorian wings of the building are Grade II* listed. In 1898 it became St Monica's Priory, a convent of Augustinian canonesses, a use that lasted to 1969. Guilielma Maria Penn, wife of William Penn, died in Hoddesdon in 1694, and tradition has it that she was staying then at Rawdon House.
